You are most welcome Carol. I think it's useful to see especially when there is quite a noticeable difference. If you're not expecting it... panic? Or is that what is supposed to happen.

Loving the pools of water on the side! Yes to control! The water puddles would really help the littles when I paint with the grandkids. 😊

It's one of those things I've picked up from paper crafting - generally paper + puddles of water = NO! The convenience of little puddles, as well as controlability make them a gem. And yes, less is more when it comes to grandkids and water.

I. really love the control of the fabric with taping it down!

Yes, it makes a world of difference. I am just using an artist's wooden board with a file clip on it that I have covered with a plastic bag (high-tech). I wanted something firm enough that I could lean on to draw a design, but I think having the plastic surface underneath also seems to allow the water to flow underneath just a little as it soaks through the fabric. This could be helping the Inktense to flow a little as well. Not sure, just a thought.

I just received my inktense blocks and did just one fabric trial. I assumed the fabric needed to be washed to remove the sizing. But now I might try a side by side with a washed and an unwashed muslin. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm using my cloth for stitching and appliqué. Marion's World channel also has a couple videos on using the inktense blocks and pencils on fabric. Her favorite way to use fabric is to wet it with a brush. I do love your watercolor look and hers too! Thanks again for sharing!

Carol, don't you just love the intensity of colour you can get from the Inktense blocks? I usually work with paper, so don't even think about whether or not I should wash fabric or not, so your testing would be very useful. I love learning from other people as much as I love experimenting. I don't think there is such as a thing as a fail, just an experiment that didn't work out how you expected. I think the Inktense will look stunning for both stitching and applique. Good luck, and keep me posted.

Yes! Would love to see the ways of using the pieces! I'm using them for slow stitching embroidery. Enjoyed seeing your technique!

So far I have used one or two pieces as pockets in junk journals I have created and I've hand-sewn (very roughly I might add) some together into a fabric journal which I am hoping to use an a stitch sampler, but I've not made it very far on that. I keep getting side tracked because the hand sewing just seems so slow to me some days. I'll follow this up again in the New Year and see what I can come up with, just for you.

@ Awesome! I have used one such piece to back a warn out (knitted) dishcloth. added some colorful pieces and appliquéd onto this piece to decorate. lots of stitching to reinforce . it is now fun to do dishes. 😄

Could you share where you found the color codes for the inktense blocks? Have been searching - but unsuccessful thus far.

I splurged on the 24 Inktense Block set (back when I had money) which came in a tin. Inside the tin was an instruction booklet which included a colour chart with the numbers on it. If you PM your email address to me, I can send you a copy of the colour chart.
