Tottenham sign Archie Gray from Leeds with Joe Rodon heading in opposite direction

Tottenham have completed the signing of teenage midfielder Archie Gray from Leeds.
The 18-year-old moves to the North London club in a deal worth around £25m to £30m, with Joe Rodon - who spent last season on loan at Leeds - moving to Elland Road permanently in the opposite direction on a four-year deal.

It’s amazing how much hate there is for Spurs. For people with a brain who actually look at what’s going on at that club, they are buying lots of young talent. They have also ripped it up at 21 level. There are some good players in that team, Moore is top of that list.

Its not 1985. No one is going to sacrifice their career and earning potential for some strange idea of loyalty to a set of fans. Archie paid back his 11 years education with 40 million. Leeds did extremely well out of this. They certainly didn't invest 40 million in him.

@@jjr2574 I believe he had something put in his contract to say he is happy to stay at Leeds if they match 80% of what any other clubs offer so I’m sure he would have been more than happy to stay at Leeds or you wouldn’t make a contract like that. Unfortunately if nobody comes in to buy other players before the financial deadline that will balance the books then you have to go with the low hanging fruit. Wish him all the best just wish we could have built around him going forward. We always have his brother coming through the academy so hopefully we are back in the Prem by the time he’s ready.
