There are a lot of things that makes this show great, but one of the most important things they got right was always showing the process of something being done. I loved watching Mike tear down his car looking for the bug, or when Saul was at the 24 hour copy shop, or any of the many scenes that show the characters actually doing something, and not just talking.

Two words: Steel & Bumper. This wasn't CGI, it was staged & filmed as it happened. The bumper protected Lalos car. The more modern car that got hit had its bumper torn off. Lalos steel bumper protected it from further damage.
