I agree with what zack said in the intro about Marvel animation we need more marvel shows like what if and X-men 97 like i want deadpool adult animated show and a revival of the Avengers earth's mightiest heroes show also maybe a illuminati animated show thats about earth 838 and the aftermath of what happened in multiverse of madness on that world

X-men 97..yes not What If. They screwed up What if by trying to do a unifying multiverse...the same formula that killed the MCU. It's not creative and you have to know about the previous episode just to watch the entire series... what a mess..

Istg, Fiege fumbled on not making special presentations more. Short films are more easily digested. Wandavision, F&WS, Loki and Hawkeye are fine (they're basically expansions to already established characters). Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel and SheHulk are characters who just debuted so a series is fine. But spin offs like Echo, Agatha, Ironheart etc? Should have been presentations. What's the point of making a separate category when you'll only put 2 entries in it? Do correct me but there hasn't been any announcements for new ones.

Thank goodness theyre slowing down. Less saturation of waste of time TV and movies. Marvel quality went down significantly and shows like Shogun takes the slack.

10:45 it's worth noting that in that earnings call they also said that Disney+ and Hulu just turned a profit (no longer running in the red) Subscribers grew considerably and they are going to start cracking down on password sharing in the coming month. All this affects just how much they will be prioritizing pushing content to streaming above theaters , which I'm sure will also depend on how Deadpool and Wolverine perform this year.

Great panel! Early viewing comment: I disagree with Maude that the MCU quality took a hit rather recently. I think Phase Two wasn't great across the board and it hasn't gotten stable since.

This iteration of DC should be successful - this was 100 years ago but the "Teen Titans" comics were huge even bigger than X-Men. Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Starfire, Wally West, Cyborg, Raven, Beast Boy, they were huge and the supporting cast was great The Trigon Saga (in the comics was fantastic) DC's dark Phoenix, The Judas Contract. And those character all branch out to other DC characters. IMO focus on the big 3 - but utilize The titans (Org members - not Damian Wayne - at least not yet.

I feel like the next big thing is going to be anime. Live action anime movies are going to dominate. They’re taking the appropriate steps. Anime is going to become even more successful. Naruto is being worked on as we speak. Dragon Ball Z will deff get a live action. It’s a goldmine.

I think Gunn is rolling the dice with a non-safe Superman by establishing that superheroes have been around for a while in this universe. The additional superheroes (Gardner's Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific, Metamorpho) are already proof this film will be a risky take. I am really looking forward to the direction the DCU will go.

I would definitely say no on the focus on kids only stories in the Star Wars Universe, I’m just so tired of trying to relate to kid jedi junk. No more child exploitation in the media LOL. There’s better stuff to focus on. Sorry Zack, I do disagree with with ya on this one. Bring us the stories from the books, especially the darker Sith stuff. soooo much more fascinating stories.

Edit: I got the vibes wrong! Maude set the record straight. 🙏 Kinda surprised Maude actually has high hopes for Star Wars considering she didn't like Ahsoka or Mando S3 very much? The animated shows are one thing, but overall it has been a decline in quality. Star Wars also doesn't have the same level of output Marvel has so it's not surprise their quality is considered better. We don't even know if The Acolyte will even be good!

The demise of the MCU has always been overstated

Seems like the analysis of Marvel’s decision to scale to 2 series and 2 films is missing that it is about their production, not releases, right now. Sure only 1 is coming out this year, but the key thing is not being in active development this year trying to crank out 7-9 projects for next year. A key word is also "slowly" as it won't be an immediate jump to 4-5 live action projects. Things in motion may dictate next year giving us 6-7 projects before 2026 settles at 4-5 (and, yes, pretty sure they were counting some animation projects separately).

Talking about Netflix... I'm curious if the new Rockstar folks have peeped '3 body problem'. Really great first season up, doesn't fit the description of Netflix budget you talked about in this video. Curious if it's been seen and or if you think it can tell it's full story. I almost think you all would have seen it since the game of thrones show runners and several actors from there and marvel are in it.

Sadly Prime Video already spaffed my favourite IP of all time up the wall with whatever that Wheel of Time travesty was, so ill default to my second favourite and go with The Malazan Book of the Fallen. As for which platform to give it to none of them have landed a fantasy based series adaptation well enough yet except Hulu with Shogun. So maybe them.

I think they need to vary the budgets and styles of the shows more. It's like they're afraid to make actual TV. She-Hulk should've been a procedural like The Good Wife, but green. Secret Invasion should've looked and felt more like a BBC series. Not everything needs to look like the movies, and that both elevates the films and allows them to tell more stories. TV is a writers medium, and that's what they need to elevate most in the TV projects.

Marvel should focus on certain specific characters for the Disney+ shows and give us multiple seasons, say Daredevil, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight, with occasional cameo of a big star character, say Captain Marvel or Thor, in the show.

Did you really look at the image? Notice his costume is battle damaged on the right side, so he's been in a battle. And if the rumors are true that the orb is Solaris, yeah, it could kick his ass. He may be slightly injured, but remember it's a photographer's still, not the actual shot of the scene.
