Solar + batteries costs are declining rapidly. If geothermal cost does not decline at the same rate then it will become obsolete

Disagree: Geothermal is like the ideal version of nuclear power, it doesn't have to always be better than the best solar+batteries, it just has to be better than the worst case scenarios for solar+batteries such as northern winters and base loading.
