Zap has a great technology. Not to say there aren't still challenges - their system works well under certain conditions and fails under different conditions - but pinches are well established and stabilizing them is a good way to get fusion in a small space.

Look at Copenhagen Atomics , 2 cents per kWh , burns atomic waste with a molten salt thorium reactor with 100 MW , easy scalable with 1 reactor per day on an assembly line. 2028 targeted commercial reactor , already build 1. prototype. This is disruptive technology.
