Since about half the world's population lives within 200km of the coast, it would seem efforts to harness waves would be of great promise. They never turn off, produce no carbon emissions and no radioactive waste. Seems like combining solar/wind/wave is the best answer.

They all have potential! Fuse energy sounds promising but the investment might be to much and dangerous. We already have energy producers created by mother nature. How fast can a tornado; twisters, hurricanes spin a turbine. One past of these can produce enough megawatts for a month of energy.
@The24Gamer
@The24Gamer 2 жыл бұрын
Fusion energy is not dangerous, it's literally the holy grail of producing energy, it's not possible for a runaway fusion reaction that can happen with traditional fission reactors, i.e. no meltdowns and the by product is helium, which as you may know is inert, it literally spits out party balloons ;)

well every single one of these energy sources alone has the potential to supply all of humanities present and future energy needs. It just dawned on me that if you attached a heavy weight to a giant air tank, you'd have something that bobbed up and down with a ton of force. I wonder what the limit is before you start losing too much energy from the waves no longer being able to as effectively move it. -I feel like that would scale, if the air-tank and weights were spread out over a wider area. You wouldn't even need a big tank either you could use sealed tubes and bags of sand...

Lowering the cost of solar manufacturing cost every year is the key. same with wind. If global initiative is being implemented to reduce solar/wind manufacturing cost by 50% per year. In 3 years, you reduce by 85%. Something that capitalist and oil/gas burning industry do not want to see. This will retire even gas power plant. The world need to have super high voltage transmission line built all over the world to transmit power from dessert and unused land to densely populated areas.

If you wish to call it green technology in the field of electrical power then it MUST last long enough to return all the energy it consumes for digging it up to the time it hits the recycling plant. wind & solar are not even close to the green technology label.

From these technologies the solar evs are definitely the biggest, though it's a pity you left out their bidirectional charging capabilities which will help support the grid, as opposed to only draw from it. Disappointed you left out geothermal power like Quaise and EGS, HTC bioenergy MOE iron smelting, Lilacs direct carbon capture for cement manufacturing, and future feeds asparagopsis seaweed that cancels our ruminant methane emissions. All of these will prove far more important and on a much closer timeline than wave power, solar glass, and fusion.

All these technologies and solutions are advertised well. There are plenty other companies and technologies which may work even better than these techs. Also when u Say solar is less efficient than wind - that's not the whole story. Predictable Delivery to keep the grid stable is also an important factor which solar is much more reliable. Energy is multiple aspects - generation, long term stability, grid stability and less volatility. Tech like geothermal fracking and others could also be better than any of these.
