Do you always have to put the baby in panel 2 with this hold?

Great question! No, you don't have to stick to panel 2. You'll want to put Baby in the panel that is opposite the breast from which you'll breastfeed. So if you're breastfeeding on your left breast, slide Baby feet first into the panel that's opposite that breast (right side of your body). This way Baby's head can line up with your breast. And if you're planning on feeding Baby from your right breast, first lay Baby on your right shoulder and then slide Baby feet first into the panel on the left side of your body. Check in to make sure both Baby's alignment is right and YOU are comfortable. Making sure Mama is comfortable can increase the joy and longevity of breastfeeding.
