Just so everyone knows: It's legal in all 50 states to breastfeed where ever you are allowed to be. Basically, as long as you aren't trespassing, you're allowed to breastfeed wherever you are, so the offended client doesn't have a legal leg to stand on.

Had an old manager one time who lost her mind because a woman was breastfeeding in the bar area! Oh heaven forbid. She made it sound like the lady was sitting at the actual bar while breastfeeding. Nope. She was off in a private corner, covered with a nursing blanket minding her business while her husband played pool. You couldn’t even tell what she was doing and the “bar” wasn’t even open. It’s an open area with pool tables that people can still use before the bar opens. I and one of my other coworkers were disgusted that a mother of three would be acting like someone just feeding their child is doing something wrong. Also, this was a bowling alley/ family fun center.

My dad was a cop in Detroit and once one of the city bus drivers pulled over his bus full of people and called the cops for a woman breastfeeding. His excuse? It was against the rules to eat on the bus. My dad told him that rule did not apply to nursing babies (or babies being bottle fed). The driver refused to continue his route with the woman and her baby on the bus, so my dad called the bus depot and told them they needed to get another bus out there because the current driver was taking his bus out of commission. The driver had a fit, saying he just wanted the woman off. My dad told him that wasn't how this was going to work. (The bus only had 2 other people on it by now and they were fine with waiting for another bus to spite this driver lol)

I never felt comfortable breastfeeding where my boob was hanging out But I did breastfeed in public with my child under my clothes at times or under a wrap. You could see less of me than usual and none of the child but some feet hanging out at times . If anyone was very bothered they never said anything. I would usually go somewhere just because I wasn't comfortable because my baby would pull wraps down and I didn't want to be exposed But when I found something that covered us I didn't feel uncomfortable. It took awhile for me to figure out what worked for me to be comfortable. When I was home normally I went to another room if we had company. Some company it didn't matter like my mom or sister but some it did just because it was more comfortable than trying to keep my baby from pulling my clothes off. Even when not intentionally nursing, my baby may decide to try to get to my boob and pull my shirt down or up Haha. I would have to be on alert when holding her out in public. I would never shame someone for breastfeeding even if at times you see a boob However I worked at a breakfast restaurant opened from 6 to 2 and I saw a woman pull out both boobs Long before the baby was near her. And continue to leave both boobs exposed rather baby was on a boob or not. She looked around the whole time and it seemed like she was Hoping someone would say something. Some people Want a fight and being a mother does not stop that. Some people look for an opportunity to sue or to just make a scene. All that happened with her is older men and some younger men got to see some boobs that morning. Our crowd was mainly older people. No one said a word . She literally pulled both out and left them there through her whole long meal. Baby nursed maybe 15 min on one boob. She seemed mad when she left hah. I have family from the Philippines. In Manila it is different but in the villages in the islands away from the urban areas breastfeeding without cover is normal and it is not a big deal. The difference is I believe that woman at the restaurant was Trying to make it a big deal so she could have a fight and feel righteously indignant .

I'm all for a mother breast feeding her infant when the baby is hungry. However, after that law passed that mother's can breast feed anywhere, anytime. In the gift shop I worked in there was a mother, wearing a carrier, baby sleeping, mother with her bare breast still out, and her husband, they just kept walking around in circles. As if just waiting to be able to confront someone denying her right to breastfeed. Baby was not eating, baby was sleeping. Boob just hanging out for everyone to see. A male coworker freaked out and refused to be in the shop until she left. His wife never exposed herself while feeding their child, he didn't want to see another woman's bare breast. And he shouldn't have to. Covering up with a receiving blanket isn't a bad thing. The woman in the video is covered up. The Karen antagonist can't even see what she's doing, she had to ask if the mother was breastfeeding. That's different. Nobody wants to deny your baby food. Nobody wants to see your boobs either. 🍳🍳👀😳🙈🙄

…the. Look away. I don’t agree with the woman not breastfeeding and walking around with a boob out…but lots of babies hate having something over their face while they are eating and getting a very young one to latch while trying to keep a blanket over your head is sometimes ridiculously hard. A woman does NOT need to cover her baby to make breastfeeding in public OK. If she wants to then fine…but some man upset about seeing a breast used for it’s non-sexual purpose needs to sit down and shut up.

The lady asked if it was okay, and did she make anyone uncomfortable, because she could go to the bathroom. She didn't need to feed her child in the bathroom, because even though it could be beyond clean, and everything is shining, if someone happens to flush the toilet ( if there are stalls) then fecal matter is going to get in the air whether they went boom boom,or not, and that's been proven. She was feeding her baby in a clean, what was suppose to calm, and relax place until Karen came over, and opened her mouth. I don't really like seeing women breastfeed, and seeing their breast, but that's my issue. She had a blanket over the baby, and she wasn't showing anything, so no biggie. Even if she bared all, and I was there, I know to turn my head, or distract myself, or turn away, but I'm not about to tell a Momma who's feeding her child, that she can't, because I have issues. I'd just be happy seeing a baby being taken care of, nurtured, and loved. I wouldn't want her to let her baby scream, because she was hungry, and didn't know why Momma wasn't feeding her, and the reason would be, because her Momma didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable, especially after a Karen opened her mouth. I would've wheel myself over to her in my wheelchair, and tell her to feed her baby, and to hell with the Karen if that had happened. Some people don't seem to know that if something is bothering you, and making you uncomfortable, that if you're able to, you remove yourself, or do what I mentioned.
