You are doing such a great job! I am a NICU nurse and see so many moms who get down on themselves because breastfeeding can be really difficult. Remember to take care of yourself and drink lots of water, like 3 liters a day! I would also suggest pumping more if you can. The lactation specialists at my work recommend pumping every 2-3 hours if you feel like your supply is running low. Also look up power pumping, many women find that increases their supply in a few days. Keep it up! And remember fed is best for all babies. There's no shame in supplementing with formula, especially it helps you keep your sanity! Take care xo

You're doing an absolutely incredible job! My twins are 4 and my son latched right away, my daughter had to go to the nicu for a few days and never would latch. I was only 25 and had a 2 year old already at home and my husband worked third shift. I was trying to nurse my son and pump for my daughter and I was going crazy! I am so proud of you and just wish I would've had half of your ambition. You're a wonderful mama! Love and hugs!

Kendra, this is so impressive. I see so many new moms who give up nursing rather easily. So many of the issues they blame for this are easy to overcome with the proper knowledge and commitment. I am super impressed with how beautifully you've done this. Thanks for sharing. (I nursed 4 babies for well over a year back in my time and still am a huge advocate...)

I’m definitely going to Breastfeed completely, so i was amazed to know that i don’t have to feed both kids at the same time. Keep up the good work and keep giving out good information. What a great video and I think it will help so many nursing moms. I was having some similar issues with nursing my baby and was told to try to nurse on one breast per feeding. Fully draining each breast per feeding tells them to produce more milk, thus increasing supply. Keep up the good work mama! It's hard work!!

Good job Kendra! It's hard work... and I'm only nursing one! Drinking lots of water helped with my milk supply. Also, my baby is approaching six months and the first 3 months I nursed all the time. We go through phases where she seems more fussy nursing, but from what I read that's normal for all sorts of different reasons. But your doing awesome!

Great tips! You're bringing back all the memories from pumping for 10 minutes. As for pumping, play around with the speed of suction. I'm sure your body will produce differently because it's used to a baby and not a machine stimulating. But I had mine in the middle which turned out to be too much, once I turned it down I went from 4-5oz ever 2/3 hours to 8-10!
@MrEuroAccent

There are developmental leaps at 12 weeks and then again at 4 months, which can increase fussiness and appetite too. If they don't want to latch, it can help to hand express until your letdown starts and then put them on. Good luck!! My nursling is about to turn 2 and I can't imagine how much more difficult twins must be. You've done an awesome job already. :)

Loving your channel Kendra!:) Our babies are so close in age! One thing I wanted to mention, I tried Earths Best and it made my baby very constipated so I asked my pediatrician about it and she said it's common with that formula so we stopped supplementing with it and everything went back to normal! I'm currently take Fenugreek and she hasn't had any problems with it:) Hope that helps!

Another great hospital grade pump for an amazing price is the Spectra S1 or S2!! I found out about it in a breast feeding group and it def. helped me get more milk then my ameda purely yours that I was using prior! Something to look into it has a lot of features on it so it can be customized and the suction is powerful but gentle at the same time!

Not sure if you will actually get to read this but if you do I have a little of advice. My twins are 12.5 weeks old. Try to do one baby per breast at a feeding. Then switch it up after every feed. Baby a gets left then next feed gets right. Also if you pump after feeding it also helps with your supply! It's great that you keep trying though. Your babies are beautiful.

Great job! I nursed my first baby for a little over a year and loved it, however, I remember how challenging it was in the beginning. Now we're expecting twins and I'm nervous because I remember how challenging it could be with just one. Also wanted to suggest brewers yeast! Not sure if you tried it, but I noticed a big difference when I used it. It has a very bitter taste, so I would add it to things like smoothies to hide the taste of it. Again...great job!!

Sorry my comments are all over the place lol but you mentioned about nursing leaning back yes when you nurse leaning back it makes the flow slower so thats def. it! Moms who have a fast flow are recommended to nurse leaning back so that it slows it down.

Lactation cookies!! I made some no bake lactation cookies that have oatmeal, peanut butter, yeast, flax seed, honey... I think that's it. They're on Pinterest. I always noticed a difference in how much I pump after eating them. It could be that or the fact that I ate 13 cookies. 😂 Either way, try them! They're a life saver!

I was just about to say if you do give them a bottle make sure you pump so you're still telling your body to produce because what happens a lot of times is that people don't do that so then your body starts producing less. Its basically supply and demand.

He ate 6-8 oz. as a newborn every 30 minutes -2 hours and I could only make 3 oz every 2-4 hours. I really liked Plum Organics and Pure Bliss formulas and Phillips Avent glass bottles which have attachments that work with a Medela pump. Best of luck!

Coconut oil, avocados are great for upping the fat/calorie content of milk which might help them sleep a little longer at night :) Also, if you can bring yourself to pump really early in the morning like 5am that is the peak time to get a lot of milk out!

Dont heat up your milk changes the taste and looses a lot of nutrients.....breast milk is naturally sweet and very nasty when microwaved...its good for 5 hours out of the fridge room temperature is fine or you can run hot water over the bottle to take the chill away...its also good up to 5 months in a regular freezer and 12 months in a deep freezer... Brewers yeast flackseed meal are great for producing more milk fir pumping and regular feeding...also try footballing them both and lean forward so babies get a better latch i promise it'll work alot better....i fed my son for a little over 9 months stopped due to started back working and wasn't eating properly anymore

Perhaps reach out to a lactation consultant who is knowledgeable on twin nursing, just to make sure your not unintentionally sabotaging yourself. I personally would suggest using one breast for each baby. I only had one baby, but I only nursed on one side at a time. Also with bottles, stick with the low flow nipples so they have to work harder, because they can develop a preference to it, due to the ease they can get it.

If you find that the baby you feed second is more fussy, it could be that the first baby is getting the richer "foremilk", and the second baby is getting the thinner "hindmilk". Try switching it up so that both girls get first nurse at one of your breasts. Congratulations on your nursing successes!!

I had started pumping a while ago and have been supplementing him with a bottle which seems to be helping. Thanks for all of the tips! 👌🏼👶🏼

It might not be your milk supply, it most likely is that she's too hungry to be patient enough to wait for a letdown.

I also recommend giving each baby their own breast. Just give it a try and see how it goes! I think it's GREAT that you're nursing your twins - and that you're enjoying it!! :-) I breastfed my 3 daughters for over a year, and two of them have children now and they were all breastfed too. One of my daughters had a lot of trouble with her milk supply early on, and she used the fennugreek, and Mother's Milk Plus and a drug named donperidone (not sure about the spelling). It's not available at regular pharmacies, but you can get it from a compounding pharmacy. The lactation consultant called the doctor and got him to prescribe it and he did and she needed to take it for only two months. It helped a lot. If I were you, I wouldn't even think about losing weight now - there will be time for that later. Now is the only time you'll get to nourish your baby girls from your body and it's SUCH a feeling of accomplishment and it's so good for them - and for you. My doctor always said that nursing women tended to carry extra weight and that's perfectly fine. Be sure to enjoy some treats to get those extra calories in! You're feeding 3 people with what you eat! I wish you the best and give you hugs from this Grammy to 7 breastfed grandchildren! Oh, my daughter that had the supply problems overcame those issues (it took a long time, though) and she went on to nurse that baby for 22 months. She's been pregnant and/or nursing for 6.5 years now since she nursed several months into her 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. :-) My daughters are in their 30's now, and breastfeeding them was one of my best experiences as a mother! :-)

If I don't nurse my twins together I will be nursing all day. It is easier to do one at a time! And I think they do eat better. But I can't be nursing constantly.

I know that nursing both babies and pumping both breasts at the same time produces more milk, especially over time. maybe as the girls get older and even more efficient you can nurse them at the same time. you can definitely feel the strong letdown that way too. don't forget, the babies draw out way more milk than the pump does, let them suckle until they get the fatty hindmilk too. it'll all work out, you're doing an amazing job, really! I love that you are doing so well and feel so confident about nursing the girls. it's an amazing ability we have as mothers. It's great how you are adjusting your lifestyle to suit the girls' needs...that's really the definition of being a mommy in my eyes. God bless you and your cuties! don't blink because it all goes so quickly. ❤❤

Drinking a dark beer once per day may be helpful in increasing your supply. I have used that and fenugreek to help moms produce more milk (I am a healthcare provider)
