Breath has that element of story telling which reflects the complexity of human mind and how to cope with it down the way. I hope the movie reach out to more people.

I saw Ben Spence in real life. He was one of the surfers helping at the beach when my school went. :)

Amazing choice of casting. Great gamble that paid off by Simon Baker using surfers with no acting experience..!

Great movie and beautifully shot .... wonderful surf movie about growing up poor with the surf in Australia and with a surf star Simon Baker that helps two young adolescent lads 13/14 to grow up, to be brave and to face fear through teaching them to surf the BIG ones. Shame they added the underage sex criminal behaviour of the very miserable slightly disabled extremely depressed Female partner of Bakers character and for that reason I dont recommend to families with children under 16 years.and why add asphyxiate her whilst doing it with her because she she could get off is another reason KIDS should not see this film.... I would not recommend it to families .... from 1 hour in NO SURFING just a depraved woman with a child !

I want to see it, but it grosses me out how his wife looks at the young boy. I know that a big part of the story, but it’s still really gross, so not sure I can sit through it

yep it did let the movie down for a 'family' movie that was terrific surf movie for over an hour and then was completely taken over by sexual criminal behaviour of a miserable full of pity depressed adult woman with a 14 year old boy child. The plastic bag asphyxiation request made it worse ....The same boy goes on to destroy the age appropriate girls confidence by rejecting her many times advances towards him .. what a disappointing film in the end... slutzilla took over and no more surfing. Surfing was wonderful

@@shantishanti1949 Agree. I found the same with the book. Coarse, "too much information", language that might well be appropriate among young Australian boys, but not something many of us want to read, or listen to. And getting to scenes of a 14 yr old boy in the process of screwing -- no way. I skipped it then. Pity. Nothing of it resonates with me, not being male, not being Australian, not having had such a childhood, and being a person of mountains anyway. But I tried for the sake of learning something of another culture - but couldnt face those scenes, nor the character of the wife.

@@pamelastorer8570 Hi Pamela, the only cultural part was the surfing and that was accurate - the love of surfing and the beautiful climate and beaches. The sexual depressed female - never met anyone remotely close to her or the kids behaviour. So not a true representation of Australia even back then in that ere. The first hour was worth the watch- it should then come up with a WARNING. You are about to watch what happened to French President Macron TURN OFF YOUR TV. You have to laugh at this crazy world and avoid the crazy parts too.
