Thanks for this. This will always be one of my favorite games. I appreciate the insight you provide during the run. Lots of weird quirks in game design. Been playing this game since it first came out and just now realized that trees in a forest will catch on fire during a fight if you use fire spells. Impressive attention to detail.

Maybe i didn't see it, but how does Rand hit the final boss twice in a row? I thought only Bow has a weapon that does that.

That is a glitch that I discover a year ago. The first version was the herb glitch and after a few months I discovered a newer version that gave us access to 9 weapons. They all have 64 attack power but the van ext and moondrop have twin attack and the holy element where everything else has a single attack with fire element. I used to think BL standed for blade (it stands for ball) and PL meant plate (pill, the ammonias of this series are based off of smelling salts)

The translation is so weird for this game. I'm sure some things I say are not right and are thing that I just made up when playing the game. I think the Lifepl is actually life plant.

moondrop glitch. bugged weapon. Has the ability to attack twice and has holy element. If you search for moondrop glitch you will see some of my in depth videos on it (tied to herb glitch) Herb glitch was the first discovery but the moondrop is an improved version.

2:24:32 earlier you said that spells cast by items don't have elemental effects. But then here you use a FireRock because the roach is weak to fire. Just sayin', something isn't quite consistent here.

Also I think you could've cast Exit with Nina to escape this dungeon without backtracking after getting the Gold Fly, she learned the spell during this dungeon.

Yeah that is me misspeaking. If you use it on portal in Highfort it will absorb the magic. It will exploit fire weakness. Thou to a mob that is IMMUNE to magic it will hit (like a dragon spell) The same is true with items like the empire sword. It will act as a elemental hit if the enemy is weak to thunder but works on enemies immune to magic.

@@andy-rh8eu Ok, thanks for the clarifications! That is some strange behavior on the spell-casting items, shows a bit about how they programmed those features separately under the hood. Great run btw, I learned quite a bit about one of my favorite games.

Does the money glitch work for the Nintendo Wii version of this game?

Sorry for the late reply! I have not tried it but I am utmost certain that it does. I think there was a speedrunner who was using the Wii version.
