Yeah, I felt the same way about how they overused the Zelda jingles in this game. In past Zelda's, hearing a jingle was an actual treat because it came along with some unique item or after you figured out a puzzle that wasn't just completely trivial (like basically every puzzle in BotW is). In BotW these jingles play way too much, and for such inane stuff. Especially the weapons. Hearing the item jingle for a weapon that's only going to stick around for 15 to 20 swings (making it the zelda item equivalent of plastic cutlery), or some random crafting item that's probably going to sit unused in your inventory for hours just completely removes the excitement of those jingles and replaces it with irritation for me.

Botw main offense for me is being sooo empty for an open world game. Its infuriating to see it ranking higher than Witcher 3, a game where you cant walk 100m in any direction without seeing something cool.

That is my biggest issue with it. All this pretty, colorful... empty space.

I have my problem with witcher 3 even though i enjoyed it. However, i can't understand how botw sidequests are better than the witcher 3. At least you gain better weapons or powers, have a great sidequest that should be it own story and likeable and believable NPC and even helping them some of them come to aid you in the final battle. BOTW have no of that.

The greatest thing about Nintendo is that they learn from their mistakes and I feel that Tears of The Kingdom fixes a lot of these issues. Of course there are still mostly just shrines and koroks to find but there's caves now and also the game has legacy dungeons with unique enemys and bosses. The durability of weapons is increased by fusing monster parts (horns) and they also increase damage. It's a really fun game and I'm only about 8 hrs in and the story is just soo soo much better than BOTW's

The cooking got boring after the first time. Honestly, the whole hype around BotW was an exercise in mass-gaslighting. And Nintendo succeeded.

Yeah especially when it came to convincing people this game was some "return to its roots" experience when Zelda 1 has almost nothing in common with it.

This game got boring after about 40 hours. I somehow slogged thru to the end around 90 hours. I regret spending that time. There was NOTHING to do. No progression anywhere. If Nintendo treated the rest of the world how they treated the area between Hyrule Castle and Kakariko Village, it would have been better. Instead, they just generated a world and slapped a For Sale sign on it. I went back to playing Minecraft and Skyrim. Skyrim, a game that came out in 2011, blew BoTW out of the water. BoTW should have blown Skyrim out of the water. And, the whole "You just don't understand open world games" defense🤦 I play Minecraft. I wish I could get away with selling millions of copies of an incomplete game like how Nintendo did with BotW.

I’m a fan of the game and grew up playing it, and I’ll admit. The game is overblown by a lot of fans, but it’s still a fun and enjoyable game regardless Not to mention, it’s a product of its time in the year 2017, made for an Underpowered console. Of course it will feel out of place with all the recent advancements in gaming and open worlds
@Zoznerol13 күн бұрын
It being made in 2017 has no real bearing on this. It didn't feel out of place. It felt empty. I've played older open world games that feel more alive, and from older tech. Yes, it is fun, but, it should've been judged more more harshly. It didn't, because... it's zelda. That's how I feel.
