There are so many NPCs with an awesome backstory behind them! - Nell, who came to the Akkala Citadel Ruins to remember the fallen soldiers (he's wearing an old Hylian armor, so maybe he's a descendant of one of the soldiers who fought there) - Garil tells people visiting Fort Hateno about the soldiers who fought against the guardians 100 years ago ("I'm alive now because of them, and I've got to make sure future generations know it!") - Celessa wants (after having met with Impa) retrace Zelda's footsteps, wondering how she felt and wishing that her father can rest in peace - Ralera from Hateno Village says that she moved there from Lurelin Village after her wedding. She comments that this would be far too dangerous nowadays, implying that there are now a lot more monsters than a couple of years ago NPCs like them or Uma show how the Calamity has affected people's lives and how they remember it.

At Snowfield Stable, you can find two NPC’s that actually recognize Link as the Hero. There’s Danton, who asks to see the Master Sword and encourages Link to never give up even when facing the toughest hardships. Then there’s Harlow, a stable hand who also believes Link to be the Hero, and pledges herself to do whatever she can to make Link’s stay at the stable comfortable. I hope botw 2 will have a lot more interesting characters. It would be cool if the characters could have in-depth side quests with major feels because botw2 is a darker game. Maybe a hylian traveler could ask link to help him find something in castle town connected with him and his family, maybe he is a survivor of the great calamity and didn’t know what happened to his family afterwards and wants to know. When you bring it back to him maybe he can feel happy or sad that he learned what happened to his family. This could be with a lot of characters but in different locations. I think it would be a cool way to show some more personal feelings for characters and see more of how the great calamity effected people and set the darker tone for the game...that was longer than I first thought it was going be....sorry....great vid tho!

My favorite “NPC” (More of a full-fledged character, but still an NPC) Is Kass. A musician/composer/bard Rito who is on a quest to finish his mysterious teacher’s song about link? It’s such a great story if you actually read into it. And if you take the time to do all of Kass’s songs, and go to him in Rito Village, *SPOILERS FOR KASS’S STORY* he’ll play one more final song about what happened to link after the calamity. He will then reveal to Link that he’s known all this time that he was the same champion from the songs. His master was a little in love with Zelda, but it was not reciprocated. So he pleads for Link to save her, for the sake of his beloved mentor. And if you do the DLC, *SPOILERS FOR CHAMPIONS BALLAD* He becomes even more of a central character, leading you to the trials of the champions. When you finish them all, he plays his master’s song, which he himself has finished by adding the verses. Then he gives Link a photo of the Champions right after the inauguration, which was taken with the Sheikah Slate 100 yrs ago. He then ends the DLC Main Quest by saying “May the souls of the Champions of Hyrule rest in peace.” You’re then left on the same ledge you were looking out on at the beginning of the game, with the final note fading out, standing beside Kass. I’ve done the Champions Ballad 2 times (Once normal, Once in Master Mode) and both times that ending has given me the most goosebumps anything has ever given me. Kass is definitely my favorite NPC. He even passes the Champions, Link. and even Zelda in my book. Maybe i’m biased , with me being a musician and (sort of) a composer.

I was disappointed in the lack of emotional connection to npcs in this game. Oot/mm all had major emotional connections. Sadly in botw I could have cared less about any of them. I will say knowing how the king and Zelda last spoke and knowing the king was gonna be more of a father than a king to Zelda when she got back from the spring. Then he dies.. that’s rough. But I miss the in depth back stories of random npcs. Like finding out grog was the carpenters son and hearing some of their dialogue about each other and grog getting lost in the woods turning into a stalfos. Botw needs more emotional aspects in all npcs

I liked Dorian and his family and some of the NPCs are nice. I like them not being to deep as u in the wild and hearing these npcs different opinions and thoughts are just rly interesting

I think it helps to remind you just how alone link feels. He is only alive because he failed his job the first time. All of his friends and mentors are dead. I think that we, the players, need to remember that link feels isolated and alone, and has no one to guide him
@erin98684 жыл бұрын
What about Cottla and Koko? I don't think you can get much more emotional than a child who is trying to step up to replace her dead mother by cooking for the family and caring for her younger sister. Or Cottla who still thinks she is going to find her dead mother and they're just playing hide and seek. Mipha's story is pretty well developed, too. But I think I got the most invested in Tarry Town. The wedding felt like an appropriate culmination to a lot of time and energy.

Another NPC that I found very memorable was Medda from Hateno Village. Depending on the time of day, he says different things, just like other NPCs. However unlike the others, he would constantly talk about his daughter and if you go to his house at night and ask him what he’s doing, he’ll reply with something along the lines of “i can’t help but watch my sweet daughter sleep at night” From what I assume, his wife has probably passed away since she’s no where to be seen and his daughter would also constantly talk about her mother, even in her sleep. I would also like to add Dorian from Kakariko village. Similar to Medda, he’s usually seen spending time with his daughters when he’s not on his shift to guard Impa’s house. And if you go talk to him when his daughters aren’t around, he’ll mention about how after the passing of his wife,it’s his duty to tell his daughters stories just like his wife once did, and also talks about how every moment with his daughters was a blessing. My heart 🥺

botw is so filled with amazing stuff and so empty at the same time it was my best rpg open world experience ever. nothing against gtaV or skyrim but the zelda series have always such great innovations. i think botw and how it set standards was the main reason why they restarted Metroid4 and im really exited what we get delivered from nintendos most underrated series then we know nintendo take their time to deliver quality.

I would love it if there would be like, an NPC that has a continuous side quest that happens over the course of the game. EDIT: I know Kass and Pikango have that, but I'd like a rival type character that's also an adventurer.
@gavingamer7033 жыл бұрын
Also another thing about haggis is if you complete another side quest he says something different, he says “me and my family are going venturing your in my way, cease to be so” and that side quest is about helping his daughter where you need monster cake to feed to Hague’s daughter which I find pretty interesting.

I'm assuming this was for lesser known NPCs, but Kass definitely takes it for me. I also love the Zora, from the old, cranky ones to the younger ones who remember Link fondly. Seggan is especially fun as he's so stubborn about trying to go up to Vah Ruta himself by "training" with a shock arrow. As for a random one, he's not really interesting, but I've always loved Pruce, the shop owner in Hateno, as I always go to him to sell my stuff, lol. "I love stuff! And things!"

When hagie says the line about how some things in the world money can't get you, isn't he meaning about the cure for his daughter which is his second side quest, am I wrong or is that a different npc.

About the #1, there's this guy named Tokk in Hateno Village and I really can't remember the exact place, but I think it's that old man looking at the windmill near the farm. He has light dark skin. So glad to have found a channel that gives the respect and spotlight to Twilight Princess that it deserves, its my favorite Zelda game of all time and the only one (beside BOTW for different reasons) that I replay casually on the regular. If you ever have the chance, could you do a video on the Lost Forrest of Twilight Princess and how its the ruins of the old OOT Castle Town? It was confirmed by a Dev at one point, and this would mean that area is also The Great Plateau, although that one isnt confirmed. Thank you for respecting TP and not just ripping off all of its music and bashing its gameplay and story.

Uma brings back stories my dad told me about my great-great grandfather, who he named me after. He lived well over a century and my dad was a young man when he finally died, not of old age, but due to an accidental fall that turned his good health bad, implying he could have lived even longer. He was the son of a Confederate soldier and recounted stories about the subsequent reconstruction period immediately following our loss in the war and just how bad it was, something that American history text books try to cover up and draw attention away from. A piece of history so many are trying to erase that this old man lived through firsthand and took the full brunt of in ways none of us today can even imagine. It's honestly awe-inspiring and demands reverence just to think about him, at least, to me.

I honestly think that Selmie should’ve made it on this list. Yet another minor character but is still a very interesting character due to the fact that her appearance makes it look like she could possibly be a relative to Link. And the fact she is able to survive in such a cold and harsh place like the Hebra mountains is really impressive.Not to mention you can actually find her old house at the Hebra Trailhead. Which is just north north of Rito Village.

I would really like that link could have some more interaction with specific NPC's, for example, I always see the same NPC's getting attacked, usually the ones that are looking for berries, or the island one that wants to become rich or the brothers that are looking for treasures, and once I tried to just drop the things they were searching for in front of them but they didn't pick them, it would be really nice if you could send them home happy and safe

This isn't the first time they've put alcohol in a Zelda game. Chateau Romani in Majora's Mask, the literal creme de la creme of the ranch, is milk mixed with champagne. Hence Gorman being astounded by how tipsy he is from milk. Of course, they cut out the mention of wine from the NA localization, but they left Gorman being drunk in. So even skirting the issue, it's not the first time they've had a fantastical version of alcoholism.
