why breath out through mouth and not through nose, which is natural ??

Hi Subrata - thank you for your question. There are some pranayama practices that breath out thru the nose and others out thru the mouth. My teacher who taught me the Quantum Breath also called it the "Straw Breath" because the exhale was like exhaling thru a tiny straw. He did not explain why the exhale is out thru the mouth. However, in my study of breathwork, I have noticed when breathing out thru the mouth it is usually for detoxing. What is natural? Breathing in and out thru the nose with the tongue on the upper palette without forcing or controlling should be your natural breathing practice.

Do you do this before doing Quantum Touch on someone or is there another reason for you doing this? It seems that practitioners have individual styles, one I saw was quite quick and actually blew out her breath loudly and fast at times while others are slower and not so noisy or demonstrative. Why is that?

Hi FerryGirl, this breath technique works well for detoxing body as well as for calming the mind. Because the technique is expanding the lungs and ribcage you are exercising the muscles in this area, creating more space as well as massaging the heart.
