hi. thanks. my shortness of breath increases every time I get the chemo and almost goes away after a week. I had also reaction to the chemo so they had to change the medication. they checked my lungs and also they don't believe I have anemia. do you have any suggestion why i feel like this? ❤

Thank you for reaching out. Shortness of breath can sometimes be a side effect of chemotherapy, especially if you had a reaction to the medication. Since your lungs and anemia have been checked and ruled out, it might be related to how your body is responding to the chemo itself. Your mother is fortunate to have you. There are several reasons why someone on this chemotherapy would have shortness of breath. It is important to let her medical team know that she is having shortness of breath.

hi.. I have a friend which she has stage 5 metastatic breast cancer with plueral effusion and she hasn't been in chemotherapy but already losing her hair and having difficulty in breathing..

Great question. Your oncology medical team can work with your primary care doctor or asthma doctor to make sure that your asthma is well controlled during cancer treatment. Cancer treatment generally is not affected by asthma. Nor is asthma generally affected by cancer treatment.

Great question. Very occasionally, people can have advanced cancer before they even know that they have cancer at all. These people may come to the hospital or their primary care doctor with shortness of breath. This is really quite uncommon.
