Hello everyone!
This is the Equator Channel again! Today we are going on a journey to ancient Egypt. The history of this great country gave us a lot of rulers hidden behind the name "Pharaoh".
Only a few of them are known to the masses. And even less we know about the ancient Egyptian queens and princesses.
Meanwhile, the sculptural images of female members of royal families are available to this day. What were they like? Let's look at their breathtaking portraits, brought to life with the help of artificial intelligence.
Enjoy watching!

AI images in video are based on ancient sculptures. Sculptures of royalty would never show facial imperfections or uneven skin tones... Reality was quite different. Also I cannot imagine "in-bred" royals (based on their family tree) could defy deformities...

They didn't. It's why one of the markers of a Phaoronic ruler is buck teeth. It's kind of funny to think how such a characteristic used to be considered a mark of status. Yet today it's something we as a society try to correct due to its perceived unsightly connotations lol. Think back to the Hapsburgs and how they started turning out. I'd imagine MANY of the Pharaohs AND their queens were just as horrifying. This is one of the reasons I don't tend to believe in the accuracy of any of these videos. Not to mention I know how artists fiddled with their paintings to make the subject more attractive so as not to be killed when painting them accurately.

It’s amazing how the Israelite brothers who traveled to Egypt was not able to to tell their brother Joseph from any other Egyptian . It’s equally amazing how the Egyptian pharaoh did not realize that Moses was Hebrew. I conclude that they probably had the same skin color as the original people depicted on the walls all over Egypt.

A conclusion based on racial ignorance. Unlike for you race meant nothing in Egypt. The royal family had wed treaties with kingdoms as far north as the caucuses to as far south to ancient punt. Have you ever seen a white woman with black skin?
@acaydia2982
@acaydia2982 Жыл бұрын
@@so9487 She was never Black. She was Greek. Even the oldest Pre Dynastic Egyptian ever found was a pale red headed Caucasiod man they call “Ginger.” However, they did use the color black as symbolism to mean death, fertility and resurrection. Like the crops in the black delta soil by the Nile River. You can read all about it. Just like they depicted their wives as pale white. She wasn’t defiled by the Sun like the men were. She stayed inside as only the wealthy & powerful could. We also have their DNA now. We know where these people come from. We also know that white skin does not come from Europe. White skin & blue eyes comes from the Middle East and into Europe. People just don’t understand how empires and migrations of populations happen, with correlation to certain Haplogroups. Egyptians banged on the Nubians and depicted them as their natural born enemy in their art. There’s a lot of the “conscious community” that purposefully edit photos of Egyptian art just to lie and confuse their own people. Even people that have been in the “conscious community”for 20 & 30 years that are now w exposing these charlatans. I don’t blame them. They were lied to. So was I and you as well. It’s only Black Americans that have been pushing these foreign concepts of genetically indigenous Egyptians.Study show that Modern Egyptians have 67% genetic similarities as the Ancient Egyptians That’s a fact. “Black Egypt” is an American Cult.

These are some of the best AI reconstructions I have seen. Very good job and only appropriate embellishments. However, the girl at 1:40 is not Meritaten. It is Ankesenamun, her younger sister who was married to Tutankhamen. You can see her image on the back of Tutankhamen's throne. She had a wider, roundish face and was often depicted wearing a cap or wig. Meritaten was older and is the girl with the thinner face, pointed chin and very big eyes who often depicted as bald or with the "elongated" head. Meritaten was first betrothed to Tutankhamen and you can see her in a relief offering him a flower. She was the daughter of Akhenatenand his mother Tiye, who wished to produce a child with her son so that she could use that child to regain power. The child was Tuatankhamen, whom she raised. (This is why Tiye's hair was found in Tut's tomb. She was both his mother and his grandmother). This is also why Tut's genes were all messed up; he was too inbred and so had physical defects. Akhenaten also had a sexual relationship with Meritaten and was the father of her daughter who was also called Meritaten. There was no such person as a pharaoh called Smenkhkare -- that was a coronation name for Tutanknamen in the olde regimem, before Akhenaten's death and the changeover of power, When Akhenaten and probably Nefertiti as well were killed, Meritaten became queen but only briefly. She refused to marry Tutankhamen or her uncle Ay, who had, with Horemheb, the general, been behind the attack and murder of her father and the destruction of his tomb, and so was imprisoned in a cell wherein she hanged herself. She had tried to marry a foreign prince named Zanannza who was murdered on the way to her palace. Meritaten was buried in Tomb 55 in the Valley of the Kings, in Kita's sarcophagus which had been recovered from the destroyed tomb of her father. All of this left Ankesenamun, who you have so perfectly re-created above, as queen, since her older sister was now dead. The image of Meritaten with her elongated head was overcarved on Tut's throne then and replaced with the head of Ankesenamun. Tut and Ankesenamun were also too closely genetically related to successfully have children and their marriage was short. Tut died young, apparently of malaria, which left Ankesenamun, who never got any older than you picture her here, still asl queen and at that point her uncle Ay tried to marry HERm, an idea she doubtlessly didn't care much for either. How she died is not recorded. I suspect she may have tried to escape her evil uncle but Ay had her killed so he could take over as pharaoh of Egypt. At any rate, you can tell the two princesses apart because Meritaten is almost always shown to be skinny and bald and Ankesenamun younger and with black hair or wig, and a wide face. A lot of sculptures and reliefs of the two of them exist because they were Akhenaten and Nefertiti's first two daughters but it's important to distinguish between them. I think Ankesenamun's tomb was found fairly recently but those who discovered it didn't get whose it was. The coffin had her signature black wig/hsir style though and was a hastily and unusually buried, as was Meritaten, and both of them were basically discareded and dishonored since they did not support the return to the old regime. Again, I really like these reconstructions' they look like human beings rather than Frankensteined computer constructions. So good job anyway; I believe you have got poor Ankesenamun's face exactly right and interpreted the sculpture perfectly.

Tutankhamun's name wasn't Smenkhkare before his father's death... It was Tutankhaten. Both names are all over his tomb and scrolls from the time. Not to mention other writings. KV55 was the resting place of Akenaten. Although some theorize that it could have been Smenkhkare. Either way, the mummy was most definitely male and related to Tutankhamun. Also, he didn't die of Malaria. Some theorize that he died due to blunt force trauma because of a sliver of bone (from his skull) found in his brain. Whether this was from battle or murder no one is certain. There is also the theory that a cyst he had in his mouth could have killed him. Then there is the Genetic disorder that both he and his father suffered from. Is Malaria mentioned? Yes, but it is only one of a long list of possiblities. Although, since Malaria isn't necessarily a killer (one lives out a long normal life, they just get sick from time to time as the disease is and always has been treatable) its highly unlikely that the disease itself would have killed him. Would it have weakened him further? Most certainly... If he had it, which there is no evidence of this, then it would have only been a contributing factor along with, yet again, a long list of other ailments he suffered from due to his inb33ding.

@@Indefenseoftheafricandiaspora Hi Aziza -- some of the royals looked what people might identify as Black now, and some were lighter-skinned. Queen Tiye or Tiya in this video is done accurately. She was definitely darker skinned than others in the family and if you look at the bust of her it is clear exactly what she looked like. It's also clear what color Nefertiti's skin was because there's a very accurate bust in existence of her. It was medium brown or tan because her parents Yuya and Yuya were lighter-skinned. At least one of them had blonde or red hair, and you can still see that on the existing mummy. The society was mixed-race as America is today. Tutankhamen and Meritaten are depicted as having sort of caramel-brown colored skin in every bust or relief. These people didn't all have the same skin color. Most had medium brown and black hair as most Egyptians do today. Egypt is in the north of Africa so people from the north who had lighter skin mixed with them as did people from the south were features were more negroid and skins darker. Not everyone looked the same and it isn't any more right to say "all Egyptians were black" than it would be to say "All Americans are white" today. One thing that is for sure you can say and it would be better if you said things this way -- the ancient Egyptians weren't all or mostly "white." It's not all a one way or the other issue. Coffee is very dark brown but if you mix some cream into it it gets lighter. But it's still coffee. :) And people are people no matter how light are dark the tone of their skin may be. If you want to claim Queen tiye as being "Black" that's absolutely appropriate. Search and you will find pictures of a bust portrait of her and her skin is dark as can be, as it should be. Her mummy exists also and the skin doesn't look too dark but a lot of mummies just turn gray and I don't think she was heavily embalmed as Tutankhamen was. If you would like me to send you pictures of the actual mummies of some of these people so you can look at them yourself, send me a message on here if you can do that and I will.

@@M.Campbell-Sherwood You are right that Tut was originally called Tutankhaten. There was no person called Smenkhhare, though. This was a name, not a person. When Tut was to marry Meritaten and become pharaoh, which apparently happened, (see the one relief which shows the two together and the overcarving on the throne which replaced Meritaten with Ankesenamun) his coronation name was Smenkare. -- used in the Amarna regime. After its fall, and the old regime took over again, he was renamed Tutankahmen. The boy born Tutankhaten when he first became Pharaoh was pharaoh Smenkhkare and that is why you see that name linked to Meritaten then disappear. The marriage did not last; she was queen for perhaps a year before probably the old regime took over and deposed her and destroyed Akhenaten's tomb. The body in tomb 55 was female and in a woman's coffin with a beard added indicating she had been pharaoh for a time. When the mummy was discovered it was described as having had the face of a "beautiful queen." It was Meritaten, buried in basically disgrace because she was of the old regime and didn't count any more. Akhentaten's body was destroyed along with his tomb and Meritaten strongly objected to this but it did her no good. She would not cooperate iwth Ay, who wanted to seize power, and so either was killed or committed suicide during her imprisonment. Tut was married off to Meritaten's younger sister, then, Ankesenamun, then he died which left her alone and Ay apparently married her, undoubtedly against her will, and she seems to have been done away with also which is how Ay became pharaoh. Smenkhkare was not a person, just a name and only used for a short time by Tut, who becamse Tutankhamen after he went back to the old regime and anything reminding anyone of the Amarna regime was eliminated. And the woman in tomb 55 is Meritaten, whether anyone would rather it be Akhenaten or not. Restorations of the skull match up with her facial charactistics perfectly and so does the logic of events and why she's in Kirya's coffin with Kiya's jars around her but no treasure or belongings. Akhenaten's regime was obliterated, probably by force, the tomb destroyed, his body destroyed, and both his daughters were used as political pawns due to their royal status, then eliminated so Ay could take power. Nefertiti's body was preserved but also kinda dumped in a storage room, along tieh the body of Tiye. Her body wasn't destroyed because she was Ay's niece so he didn't want to destroy her but didn't want to honor her either so the body was preserved but that's all.

Every source, from Hawass, (in spite of the fact that he's a shady person and relic thief) to Dr. Joann Fletcher and Salima Ikram all agree and say that KV55 is the tomb of Akhenaten. There are published articles and works in magazines and Archaeological Journals (Historic Mysteries, Guardians, Arce, Ancient Origins, even Wikipedia which I am loath to even source). All of these articles can be found online with a quick search of KV55. I used DuckDuck and these were the top results for the first page, not to mention all the sources on the following pages. As for proof of Smenkhkare, I suggest watching documentaries by Dr. Joann Fletcher of York University. She mentions the name and person MANY times and it's never in conjunction with Tutankhamun. There are other sources that mention said person too, but Dr. Fletcher does a thorough job of it and I can't remember the particular articles off the top of my head. I remember Dr. Fletcher's works because she is a personal favorite. I think Dr. Ikram also mentions Smenkhkare.

What's with the green eyes, dude!!! When you have an alabaster statue (Kiya), you don't give the fact a chocolate skin tone. Too dark, dude!!! Tetisheri (mother of Ahmose I) is also too dark & should certainly not have this Afro hair. Since you don't know what their hair would look like, leave the headdress of the statue on the digitized image. The features do not correspond with the tone of skin you are using. They look weird. Ancient Egyptians were not that dark. Ahmose-Stikamose is the closest to what an Egyptian would look like. Her thin lips are a much closer depiction than the thick ones your gave the images preceding her.

@@Indefenseoftheafricandiaspora You are right, many things are misrepresented. Herodotus (490/480 B.C.; † about 430/420 B.C.) had described the pharaonic time, however, only from his time span and his state of knowledge (as is known Nefertiti lived about 1351-1334 B.C., 1340-1324 B.C. (Helck) or 1353-1336 B.C. (Krauss).... The pharaohs also had wars and trade relations north of Egypt, for example with Syria. I once read that Nefertiti probably came from Syria, because the pharaohs had waged war in the north against the Hittites (today Syria). Thus it came to the mixture of the races. With Alexander the Great (July 20, 356 B.C. in Pella; † June 10, 323 B.C. in Babylon) came the mixing of the Egyptians with the Greeks. Cleopatra (51 BC ...) was the last pharaoh and was distantly related to Alexander. In the course of time races mix, this is the case all over the world!

@@mickey23052 Races can't mix when brothers and sisters are constantly marrying each other... The Ptolemy's for example stayed on track with that plan for centuries. As did Tutankhamun and his parents as well as their parents and so on. It's a bit odd when people only have one set of grandparents, great grandparents, great-great-grandparents, great-great-great grandparents and so on... That doesn't leave much room for change. It's one of the theorized reasons for King Tut having so many health issues and his children all dying at or before birth. Sure their were the rare occasions they'd marry outside their siblings but its was just that...rare. Not to mention they were always lower ranking wives/husbands. Which meant their children never had the chance to rule/reign.

@@lotuslicciardi5872 Well considering Heston played a Roman NOT an Egyptian that was pretty spot on casting. As for Taylor playing Cleopatra... She was a tad too pale to play someone who was 100% Greek. Also not naturally Egyptian. Not when your parents were brother and sister and their parents were brother and sister and their parents were brother and sister all the way back to Alexander the great and probably before. Getting a natural born Egyptian out of that mix would be a bit...well...impossible. Especially considering they never deviated from the "keeping it pure" plan. They kind of put the Black family, from Harry Potter, to shame in that sense. Although natural Egyptians were only slightly darker than Greeks considering, thanks to DNA testing, its been proven that 90% plus were of Semetic origin. They'd have looked like Israelis, Muslims or everyday Arab peoples. There was only one time period when they were darker than that and that only lasted a good one to two hundred years. Not to mention they were invaders who took over after defeating another set of invaders who had ruled for about 700 years. That was right before Alexander (a Greek born person) sacked the country and took over himself.

This would have made them olive, yellow or tan. Some may have been as dark as some of the peoples of Saudi Arabia. Especially those who worked in the sun day in and day out. The only time darker Africans ruled in Egypt was when the rulers of Nubia came up and conquered the Libyans who had taken over after the real Egyptians died out. The Libyans were there for about 700 years give or take and the Nubians (who went after the Libyans because of their healthy respect and love for the ancient Egyptians and their traditions) ruled WAY less than that (a couple hundred years, give or take). I can't say what the Libyans looked like at that point in time, but I do know what the Nubians looked like. I've also heard ancient stories on just as ancient scrolls of peoples from further south making fun of the Egyptians for being pale (my favorite being the story where the fool who comes from the south to test Egypts magic is basically shown the door by a child). Not to mention an account that Hatshepsut made of an Ethiopian Chieftess that she traded with. You really need to read, and get out, more. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt you know...

I don't like it when you make them beautiful by today's standards. There are differences from the artistic interpretations of the famous women from the past and the way you recreate their images nowdays. They look similar but can be done better.

Also, to those who are making comments about skin color, Ancient Egypt was a mixed-race society just as America is today. Some of the Pharaohs and relatives had red or blond hair and some, like Queen Tiye, were darker-skinned. If you want to say she was "Black" you would be mostliy right but otherwise most of the noted kings and queens had a tanned skin color which can be seen in their scultpures and reliefs. The Amarna royal family was light brown-skinned, and Nefertiti's skin color was the color of the skin as painted on her famous bust. Her father Yuya had reddish-blond hair, not black. Tiye was much darker and so Tutankhaman might have been a little darker skinned as well. Certainly his mummy has very dark skin! But that was the result mostly of how he was embalmed, I think. So anyway there were "white" Egyptians and "Black" Egyptians and they intermarried but the majority were brown-skinned, just as they mostly are today.

The Serial Squadron finally someone gets it!!! It's so annoying watching white Americans and black Americans arguing over what the Egyptians looked like when neither group is descended from them. You have both sides trying to discredit each other. You nailed it on the head when you said that they are a mixed multitude of people, and that should be common sense! Both groups try to separate the Ancient Egyptians from their descendants, who are the modern Egyptians. It's annoying. You better preach!

@@serialsquadron you have no idea how many times I have been called a sell out for speaking like this, even in real life. It shocks some of my own people (African Americans) that I preach this truth. There is plenty of history in west/central Africa in which our ancestors came from, but some are always trying to claim Egypt. It's annoying.
