No problem! At thesis level, perhaps try 'Brecht on Theatre' or even 'Collected Plays, Poems, Letters and Journals'.

Fantastic lesson! Btw...music function in Brecht's theatre is basically similar to all acted/sang musicals

Interesting. I wouldn't have thought all musicals had a political message and motivation to instruct an audience to make change.

Your emphasis on objectivity seems a little misplaced. Rather, Brecht is more about creating as much *awareness* of social conditions as possible in the actor so that the audience can factor those into their reception of the performance. So, an actor appreciates their class, sex, age, ethnicity, sexuality, etc. and triangulates their performances in relation to the other figures, who are also aware of these contexts, on stage. No actor can be 'objective' because no actor can live outside of ideology. Brecht acknowledges that views, opinions and actions are all dependent on our location in time and space.

Agreed. However my point is that - unlike a Stanislavskian approach, for example - an actor must not be 'hypnotised' to the point of losing his way in the character and losing emphasis on message and theme. Believing that no actor can be truly objective in their process while playing a subjective state is facile.
