Nice one bro - a pilgrimage of sorts. No doubt the spirits knew you had left the crash site alone and appreciated that. In fact some guys came along. A nice walk up - love to get the heart going amid fabulous views of the Beacons. A good visit. All the best. Mark

Yes it is a nice place. Found it quite moving seeing it all there. Poor young guy. A family member is coming over in September and I'm taking her up to see it. She's from America. There's quite a few crash sites in the area. One near crashed 1940s and killed 6 Canadian crew. Someone found a photo up there in 2005 put it up online asked does anyone know who this is. A woman from Canada said that was my brother. She was in her 80s flew over and they took her up in a big jeep to the crash site. Amazing story. There are still good people in the world.👋

Hello my friend. Most of the crashes in the area are of Canadian crew members. They all had engine problems, frozen and things like that. This one was an English man I think he was about 21. It's a single seater plane. The other planes have an memorial stone, this one has nothing sadly. A nice lady from America watched this it was a relative. She's flying over in September and bringing some photos of him, lamented so the weather doesn't ruin them. I am meeting up with her and walking her up there. Pretty cool😁😉

Hi Jamie, Are you able to send me coordinates to the plane crash site? John was my Dad's cousin and I am planning a trip to England in September and would like to hike into see where he passed away. Thank you!

Wow, that's incredible. It's very moving to see. I use an app called Alltrails, just type in Vampire VZ106 crash site. It's like Sat Nav, it will take you straight there. (Os app similar) It tells how long it will take and shows you a map also. I hope you have a sunny day on your hike. It's such a beautiful place. Best to wear walking boots. Take care.👋

@@JamieHarding5 Thank you so much Jamie! Your help is greatly appreciated! I have wanted to do this for years but it seemed so daunting to figure out how to get there!

@barbarafloyd6035 So nice. Thanks. I get lost every where, you can't go wrong with the app. It takes there in the car and then by foot. It will use a lot of your phone battery. You definitely will need a powerbank to keep your phone charged. Please let me know in the future when you've been. All the best.👋

@@JamieHarding5 Thank you! I’m making my plans for September right now! I’m planning on bringing a laminated picture of John to leave at the crash site and some flowers. I’ll take pictures while I’m there.

@@barbarafloyd6035 Hi Barbara. I can join you on your hike to the site in September if you like. Happy to meet you at the car park and walk up with you. Long way off yet. Perhaps I'll see you in September. 👋

I like that you always leave your videos natural with the sounds of nature - the wind, the waterfalls.. love it! "Good for the legs" 😆 ha ha! Gonna watch the rest now x x

You are way too kind.😁 It just because I have no idea what I'm doing 😂 I'm a bit better with camera now, not so fast and shaky. I bought a gimbal off vinted but it's rubbish. I need to buy some things slowly. I use two phones and they both are not great. I'll get it in the end. Think Tuesday afternoon looks good. I'm a window cleaner so I can go half day or when the suns out. Hoping to do Blorenge circular Tues. Have a swim there too. X

Oh that's awesome😁 I didn't realise. Really cool. We we're chatting about Cadair Idris. You said you'd done it quite a few times but always cloudy. A woman watched this video from America and it was her dad's cousin. She's coming over in September and I'm walking her up there. Keep it going with your videos. I was up Cadair Idris last weekend. Camped up there. I've done two shorts. I pick up quite a few subs with shorts. They often end up in different countries.

I'm sure his soul will have appreciated you taking the time to pay your respects up there. 🙏 I felt quite emotional when you arrived at the crash site. Like you say, so young. His family must have been devastated when it happened. Apparently the debris has been repositioned to try and replicate its original form in some way. I also read that pieces have been taken over the years and sold privately. In a way, they would have been better to have brought all the debris down and sold parts to raise money for a charity of the families choice, scrapped / recycled the rest and put up a memorial. There is something about all that twisted metal sat amongst the winter heather.. it looks cold, abandoned and forgotten.. 😔 not fitting in memory for a pilot with promise at all. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the lovely comment. Yes it's quite upsetting to see. There's a few planes left up in the area. Most people are very respectful with planes, sadly I also read that a piece was sold Ebay just over 10 years ago, so wrong. It's great to get out walking, not everyone can, others can still see though. I went and found another plane yesterday. It was so quiet, not a single person there. Take care. Hope you have a lovely day. 👋

Excellent find I'm surprised that nobody took the pieces to sell them on ebay :))

Hi. Thanks. That would be really sad. There's a few planes up there. Most people are very respectful and don't touch it. Hopefully it stays that way. You have some good videos.👍
