Great video Andy. You’ll enjoy the horseshoe when you make it back it’s a great route. Have you thought about the beacons way. Nice route with plenty of wild camping opportunities.

Andy, I had infected route canal and had it extracted they numbed me up a lot for it wasn’t too bad felt like they were pulling a tuft of grass out. Pen y fan is my nearest mountain 2 hours from Cotswolds where I live. If you fancy going for a camp on Picws Du it’s meant to be even better in Brecon Beacons and much quieter give me a shout. Dave
@nathanielrose3010 күн бұрын
As everyone else has said it’s corn Dee And your pronunciation of pen y fan was spot on mate and sounds even better in you’re northern accent.

I hicked Pen Y Fan & Cribin back in March & thanks to your uploads I put High cup Nick on my list a long while ago & I completed it a few days ago. Thanks 👍

That's a shame about the carpark Andy. Good route,the horseshoe is 👌 gives you another reason to come back I guess 😁 I've parked at the Neuadd carpark quite a few times over night and not had a problem. I've camped on "Dai's terrace" myself....Good little spot that is 👌 awesome video 👍

Stunning wales is mate. My own experience of that area was Brecon its self doing a shopfit...went to the bank friday morning , flew out the bank to get home to J27 M1....sent three Gurkas in uniform flying onto pavement..😖😖 arse twitching moment for me 😵💫 thankfully after appoligies from me they were very freindly and saw the funny side.....Not been back to brecon since.😂 A cracking spot you found there andy god luck with the tooth youth. Cheers for the video mate.👍👍

Its Corn Dee. No need to apologize to the Welsh though, half your English pronunciations are well off ! 😄. Just going to watch it now, great to see you in the Beacons mate.

You're dissing the good people of south yorkshire with one foul swoop there 😂 we have a lot in common with the south welsh.....coal and steel. I worked in merthyr for a couple of week, great people and when I sang " on ilkley moor bah t'at" one night pissed up in a pub they loved it lol. Just saying....

Interesting @Ant-66 . When we stayed at a local farm just below there years ago, the farmer (born n bred there) pronounced it Corn Vee/Dhee. 🤷
@Ant-666 күн бұрын
@@Belbury101 Yes Corn Dee, Corn Dhee, same thing 😀

Interesting video and landscape, somewhere we've never been either. Never seen craggy hills covered in grass before. Very different to the Highlands. Thanks for uploading, Andy.🏔👍

I've completed the black mountains challenge in the brecons, 50 km with loads of steep ascent, its a killer, i recon youd like it Andy lol. Im currently watching this video while camping in my x mid on windy gyle in the cheviot hills, my daughter and i have just started the Pennine way, north to south.

I've parked in the Neudd valley carpark overnight often and never had a problem so far. I'd imagine it's more likely to be weekends and daytime there'd be problems when the carpark is full. Nice to see you in the Beacons and good to see them from a new pair of eyes. There's quite a lot to go at in the park, and a lot of quieter places away from the honeypots of Pen y Fan. ( Pen uh van) and Corn Du. (Corn Dee).
@illoyd11 күн бұрын
It's a hot spot for break-ins over the years.
@Ant-6611 күн бұрын
The car park you didnt use is a great place to start the full horseshoe walk, not the cut down version many people opt for. Its about 12 miles and 1100m of climbing and is probably the best day out in the Beacons.

I’m also N.T. member and scan twice but was told it’s not about “paying” it’s because you log up two visits which shows better visitor numbers to that particular site/attraction and this in turn gives them better funding from N.T. Just did it this morning at the one next to Honister Slate Mine.
@paulryan208111 күн бұрын
I also scan twice, plus I scan if I'm passing a NT car park but not staying.
@sillymoomoomoo11 күн бұрын
I was at the pen-y-fan NT car park last weekend and asked the staff if it was OK to leave the car overnight. They said no camper vans, but it's fine to park up to go out and camp over night.

Great to see you out in my neck of the woods. That’s a spot I’ve never pitched on but I’ve always had my eye on it, you’re right about it being a popular spot. I tend to stay away from that side of the road as it can get really busy up there. Great watch as per usual 👌🏻

That looked like a really nice camp with the sort of conditions that we are all going to be yearning for once the sweat fest and midgie season starts. Its been a fairly crappy start to summer but at least we are supposed to be having some respite from the constant rain 🤞Good luck with the extraction and on the plus side think about the 2/3 grams you will be saving 😉. Have you thought about getting the Buy Me A Coffee thing Andy because i believe its a better deal for the creator than the Thanks thing ?
@AndrewBeaversКүн бұрын
eyup olan ive been advised about the buy me a coffee thing but tbh im not bothered..ive never "begged" for folk to send money in any way etc & the only reason i monetise the channel is due to youtube monetising any video at will & then the creator not being able to claim monetisation.. im not a fan of camping in hot weather id rather it be cold so for me roll on winter lol..
@Olan...Күн бұрын
@@AndrewBeavers I know but to produce the quality that you do theres a lot of expensive equipment involved that needs updating / replacing and you put a lot of time and effort into what you do for our entertainment so personally i feel that its much deserved .

Top man, great video again mate, do you find that there is plenty of room in the durston xmid 1 ? I’m not sure weather to buy the 1 or 2 mate ? Fantastic views up there on pen y fan, apart from the queues etc.. snowdon is still my favourite when the weather is bang on, always better going with gut instinct on car parks mate , take care mate and keep safe

Great video as always, looks like a great camp. How did you find the noise levels in the X-Mid Pro with the Dyneema material in the wind? Disturb your sleep much?
@AndrewBeaversКүн бұрын
its not been a problem at all not had any noise from it flapping but then i have had it pitched quite taught every time ive used it.
