Cody’s Wish’s last race, he wins in a thriller by a nostril. Cody passes away a day later, right after his horse becomes a breeders cup champion. It’s almost like he was hanging on to see his horse win one final time. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and in a way poetic. This story is one for the ages. RIP Cody. Much love to you and your family.

A loving family, a national Make a Wish organization, a farm willing to make his wish come true, a secretary who suggested the name, the horse's owners and everyone who worked on the boy and the horse to make his dreams come true. The climax of his young life and the heartbreak of his death. Who doesn't have a heart for this amazing story? Who has dry eyes today? I don't!

The SA track was lighting fast, NT and Skippy ran 1-2 and the only horse that closed into the speed bias was Cody as you can see the dirt in his face. On a side note, Cody's raced a lot and his figs were regressing, while the 3 years old are getting faster and he still won! A very classy horse!

Absolutely torn about the loss of Cody, but in the same breath, I'm happy that in his final hours that he was able to be at Santa Anita to watch his friend and namesake close out his racing career as a champion, just like Cody himself. My condolences to the Dorman family on the loss of there courageous young son. Cody may be gone, but his legacy will go on with Cody's Wish. SIP young man
