I successfully bred a Flemish giant with a Lionhead too; except it was the reverse. The male was the lionhead and he successfully gave my Flemish giant doe 9 babies!

Yeah literally the first rule of breeding rabbits is to have a larger female than male. Rabbits have super fragile spines and can be crushed easily.

Don’t breed a very large breed MALE to a small breed FEMALE, it’s ok if it’s the other way around with the small male breed breeding the large female breed, but if you breed them like this you can end up with the female dying in birth because the babies are too big for her to give birth to. And also it’s very uncomfortable for her to have to deal with such a big male mating with her.

@@veritablyvermilion I breed rabbits, probably more than you do, and I never have had it happen because I intentionally avoid breeding large male breeds to small female breeds obviously. I mean it’s just common sense that it’s risky you don’t even need the internet to lie to you or anything lmao, you don’t need a PhD in biology to figure that out. It’s not even natural since naturally male rabbits are smaller than female rabbits in the wild. You do you i’m just warning you is all.

@@veritablyvermilion the kits could possibly be to big for the female rabbit to give birth to if they inherit the larger males genes, and particularly if she has a larger litter, she could die from birth complications.

Well first you need to look at the sizes, if a female overpowers a male, don’t do it. If a male overpowers the female. Don’t do it. It isn’t true love unless the female accepts it
