Breeding Goats on the Farm

This time of year is always exciting but not near as exciting as birthing season. In this video Josie will do a little explaining on signs of a doe in heat and the pairings for 2023. We limit our herd to 10 does. This way we are pretty sure they will be spoken for. We do not want to take kids to the sale barn if at all possible. Josie will spend loads of time with the kids which almost assures they will be happy friendly kids when they are picked up. Thank you for watching and we hope enjoy.

Thank you so much! Silvie is an absolute sweetheart and the most loving baby. Although I guess at 8+ months old she’s not a baby anymore! We’ve been looking for a boyfriend for her and hope to be adding a new buckling to our herd this spring. Charo is first up to kid on March 5th so stay tuned! 🥰 ~ Josie

Your ladies were not acting very ladylike! 😄 Glad to see your happy herd. Our first kidding of 2023 is due next Tuesday. Then we have a break before several are due in March. Kidding season really helps to perk up the Western New York winter! 😂 -Sara (this is my husband's account)
