I would give most anything to visit this rhubarb shangrila. Very impressive, and thank you so much for uploading this. Not many rhubarb fanatics in my neck of the woods.

This is fantastic! I had no idea that there was anyone else out there wanting to do rhubarb breeding.

Great video! I’m in the Piedmont of North Carolina and rhubarb doesn’t particularly like our long, hot and humid summers. I was thinking of developing a landrace adapted to our climate. How long does it take to get mature and set flower for seed saving? How close do you plant yours out?

I make rhubarb Gin !!! Which rhubarb variety should I grow for the most intense rhubarb flavor please ? (intensity of flavor is the most important thing .. but a strong red colour is also good) Sweetness is not a factor in choosing

That is a hard one. Which flavor are you hoping to find? The classics like Canada Red are pretty sturdy and dependable, maybe the taste you are seeking. However, for huge production one of the German Wine varieties might be valuable.

Canada Red is a name that keeps coming up ... and Valentine .. It is just small batches for personal use so quality comes first and I don't mind plants with small yields .. I have grown rhubarb for years and have had no desire to eat it until recently ... I just thought of it as a wonderful plant .. and got up tight when anyone threatened to harm my rhubarb by harvesting some !! ... but now I crave for the stuff ! .. Thanks =)

Would you sell me some seed from your mammoth rhubarb? Can’t find that variety anywhere! Just the ornamental type but not edible.
