I did some digital microphotography on a ecosphere using a jewelers loupe glued to a cell phone cam. Worked great!

I think you could do alot with timelapse or also high speed video with this technique, maybe if i find a bigger mirror ill try it out! ;)

Your video is really interesting. I tried to follow what you did, but unfortunately, I couldn't replicate it. When I shine light onto my mirror, it doesn't create a small bright spot like in your video; instead, it disperses into a larger area. I think the issue might be with my concave lens not being correct. Could you please guide me on where to purchase a suitable lens for that experiment? If possible, could you provide me with a link to buy the lens you used? Thank you sincerely, and I hope to hear back from you soon.

did you try to use a Lens or a parabolic Mirror? i think you need to find a parabolic Mirror, im not shure it works with Lenses ;) I think best place to find such a Mirror is to find a cheap amateur Telescope (Newtonian Type), there are alot of relatively cheap beginners Telescopes with 4,5" Mirrors inside on the Market. For bigger Telescopes/Mirrors, the prices go up pretty fast ;) Good luck to you Friend! :D

Actually what you need is a perfect spherical mirror. Cheap 4,5" telescope mirrors are usually spherical because spherical is cheaper to make than parabolic. The more precise the miŕor is and the better the adjustment of the setup,, the better the images will be. If the setup is really good even small differences in ambient temperature will cause visible disturbance in the image.
