Hello... how do you rate ripper 2 compared to ripper 1?
@KayakLife6 жыл бұрын
Nice. Wish I was better at play boating to pull off these moves smoothly. Need to try this out in the PNW here in Oregon.

Get a dagger katana or a similar crossover every big brand makes a good crossover

I'm thinking about getting a Ripper sometime reasonably soon (once I sell a couple of old slalom boats I don't use anymore). Currently I'm weighing in at 67 kg, which is within both the Small and Medium weight ranges. Do you think I would be better off getting a Medium, assuming that my 18 year old self will keep growing a little bit, or keeping things sporty with a Small?
@Senders5 жыл бұрын
Small would be sporty and lots of fun, but a little bit too sporty at times on harder rivers. Medium you could run anything with but it would require a good eddy line to get it vert

@@Senders Your description of the Medium perfectly matches my impressions of it when I tested one a couple weeks back. I think my slalom skills could buy me out of jail on hard stuff with a Small, but the big thing is whether I'll grow/put on more weight or not. I guess the Medium is probably the safer option for now, and if I have indeed stopped growing, I can make it a C1 instead.

Still not sure about the Ripper. Seems like an Axiom or Braap would be a better option and then just have a bigger boat for when the rivers come up
@Senders6 жыл бұрын
I (in my humble opinion) think that the Axiom is out dated, without the nose rocker and volume in the front I would not be stoked to run hard whitewater in it where I need to keep my nose up. I like the Braap but I found it to be harder to get vertical on the stern and not as nimble down river. Ultimately there are a lot of good boats in this category but for myself, any time I sacrifice freestyle potential I want it made up for in abundance with Speed and down river potential. I find the Ripper to be my ideal in between of being able to run almost all rapids in and still being able to get vertical and have a good time.

I'm struggling trying to pick a kayak from pyranha I'm looking at the 9r the machno and the ripper I mostly do big whitewater on rivers and not creek run but there is 2 creeks around my area that I could run I want a lot of volume but fast and playful and still pops up to the surface and ride on top of waves what one would better for me I also way about 145 pounds and im 5'6
