No girl this age could sing like this... ever. At 4'10" tall they called her "The little girl with the big voice." At the mid point of the song they didn't know what put there so they had her simply speak the words, and it came out beautifully. *Brenda Lee is truly one of a kind.*

The gift of her talent and the appreciation of those around her knowing she came from a difficult family where her father died and her mother had to support a family made these kind gentlemen help her mother to provide help and get her exposure so she can earn money to help her mother and her siblings able to survive. Also, they kept her money in a fund since she was young. Plus, once her mother remarried, it was good that money he could not touched in case he married the mother to get her money which he later left the mother without a trace and she kept Brenda Lee protected by going with her to various places so Brenda Lee can earn money for her family. Eventually, buying a home for her mother which was Brenda's real reason for getting a home that would provide comfort and a decent home for the entire family to live there. God always protect his own servants.

Brenda is a one in a generational talent. Basically if she appeared in one of today’s talent shows she’d be a guaranteed golden buzzer and winner. This is a girl with zero formal vocal training and raised in a very poor family. She truly worked hard and have every right to be where she is today. Just amazing.

@@SuperMerchus No way. Keep in mind Brenda was 14 when she performed this. As soon as she begins singing the judges and crowd would instantly jaw drop. True, there are a lot of talents in talent shows. But as good as they are, the problem is most of them lack personality and uniqueness - no star power. Brenda's voice would have no such problem. She will rock the stage and captivate audience just as well as the likes of Angelina Jordan, if not more.

I am blessed to have grown up when music was truly coming into it's ability to truly milestone our lives. Through radio and the grammaphone or phonograph to radio our lives were transformed into the music we grew up with. No longer by the occasional vaudeville show but by the miracle of electronics. We each have our own generational favorites. Some of us do learn to appreciate the music of our elders and understand music evolves. What was great once is still great. What is great today might not be appreciated by older generations but it weaves the tapestry of our childrens lives. I am not a big fan of rap but love the blues and that Motown sound. Bob Dylans Subterranean Homesick Blues was the earliest of the rap genre. I love it. The artists you mentioned have struggled hard to achieve their place in our culture. Like athletes who work so hard to achieve their dream. They are entitled to the rewards they gain. They entertain millions. In my humble career as a truck driver i served many but my burden was lightened by the music i listened to as i traveled many loney miles. My weekends uplifted by " my" teams performance. Yes there are many great artists who struggle hard and never achieve the fame they deserve but if they brighten the life of one person they have achieved fame

I'm from the Philippines, and early as highschools i started to liking standard musics because of my father's music genre influence. But it was only for past five years i first heard her singing and i really Iiked it. Her voice is so simple and comes naturally. No fuzz with very clear diction, a straightforward plain to hear (see). I got almost of her records since then. Really love to hear her sings.

One of the greatest love songs of all time sung by one of the greatest voices God ever gave us, she was 15 when she sang this. Incredible Litlle Miss Dynamite

I was lucky enough to briefly meet this tiny, sweet, Lady while I worked for Ingram in Nashville TN in the 1980's. She was so nice and down to earth, but I had NO idea she was so tiny, she is under 5' tall with that HUGE voice, it's amazing. I grew up listening to my parents listen to her, so I love to hear her sing, it is a reminder of my youth and happy times. She's a beauty, too. A real Lady, to boot.

I was in Greensboro, N C as my mom, brothers and one sister picked tomatoes as I was to young to join them. I remember seeing her on TV. I fell in love with her voice. Still am at 68.

Isn't this just beautiful? What a voice - what a sentiment - who hasn't made a mistake that they wish they could take back, feels every single word?.......

MAGNIFICENT! What else can you say? It's interesting, when you read that NOONE, not even Owen Bradley, wanted Brenda to record this, although Brenda DID! At the end of a recording session, SHE was insistent that they try to record "I'm Sorry". They did a take and Bradley confessed he didn't quite know what to do with the song. They did a second take and it came together. Strings were added later. At the age of THIRTEEN, Brenda Lee recorded a magnificent, musical moment which, had it been the ONLY one she ever recorded, would have made her famous. Love it. Never tire of it.

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our hearts.
