I think Dylan subconsciously saw Kelly as being easier to date since she didn’t have overly strict and overbearing parents like Brenda did, but that’s no excuse. Out of all the single guys out there Kelly went for her so-called bestie’s bf. Girls/women like that deserve the term sl*t because they have no morals and lack boundaries. I applaud David for staying faithful to Donna while she was away.

@gbear2253 I had read an article not too long ago that Said the reason they broke Dylan and Brenda up was because the response wasn't great after they had them sleep together at prom and gave out a msg that it's OK for teenagers to have sex so young etc. And that they always wanted for them to be reunited and get back together when the series ended but as we all know they never ended up doing that either unfortunately 😔

What ticks me off about the DK summer fling is before that Dylan always ignored Kelly. They hardly interacted but then all of sudden he acts like he knows Kelly since childhood and they're soulmates and blah blah. They re-wrote history to make it seem like Kelly was always the one he wanted. That's what ticked me off the most. The writers screwed up the whole show just to get back at Shannen Doherty. It was a disgrace!

Not really. I mean he was dating Brenda at the time, so their interaction was minimal, but when Kelly confessed to liking him she admitted they had spent the year prior flirting before she came. So, the possibility of a triangle was already there. The writers just decided to bring it to the front and flesh them out by bringing up their childhood connection.

You could tell by the last look on Brenda's face that she was either worried or through them walking together was a bit uncomfortable for her. Also, Brandon was sort of a dick for hooking up with Kelly later in the show either physically or in a relationship. Karma bit Kelly in the arse though when Dylan ended it and Brandon cheated on her.

The storyline was fine. The problem was there was no satisfaction conclusion for Brenda. She was made to eat shit and move on and no one ever defended her, especially her brother. Plus they had her forgive both of them very quickly.

She was friends with Steve too. They often ran into each other at the beach club. She knew both Steve and Dylan for a while at this point. It was all innocent here.

The thing is the pairing of Kelly and Dylan was forced due to all the trouble the girls (Jennie and Shannen) had on set and a lot of us innately felt it. It was just off. They were not a believable couple because throughout the first two seasons they never really bonded, they never had moments together that would show some chemistry or even good friendship, it just came out of the blue for the sole purpose of ending the Brenda and Dylan storyline (that was the staple of the show and writers put so much effort in their relationship it felt real). So it was a manipulation of the audience’s feelings (classic Hollywood mistake) like what is this bullshit now, are we supposed to believe this? that a lot of people felt the show lost it’s spark. If Dylan and Kelly felt like a genuine pairing people would still feel the show was special. And the later soap opera years were just an income earning for everyone so any word on it is pure waste.
