The middleweight divison has lacked elite grapplers for the last 6 years, so it's nice that this kid is here to show some grappling again. Anderson was the last champ to even do submissions in a title fight. Other than that, Plessis also does submissions, which is great.

He hasn't earned a #1 contender fight yet. He has 0 wins in the top 10. Winning streaks alone only go so far. You have to beat top guys. He needs at least 2 more fights. 1's not going to cut it. Paul was ranked 13th. His next fight should be someone ranked 10th-6th and THEN a #1 contender fight against someone in the top 5. That's how it works. Unless you're a draw which he is not.
