Candidate for the best guest EVER, for sure. To talk so candidly about all manner of aspects of his life shows not only what a sound guy Bren is, but also how open, honest and welcoming you guys are with what your podcast has now become: effortless conversation. 👊😁❤️

Mega watch as ever. Some interesting stuff. Liked the talk around Sport Pschology, even if you did slate it for half the episode 😂 I am a firm believer that sports like Motocross and MTB currently miss out on the benefits other sports such as athletics or formula 1, are taking advantage of. In terms of Sport Psychology, things like imagery and using visualisation techniques before the race can be helpful. Adjusing lifestyle factors through things like positive self-talk is also really helpful. One of the general ideas in sport psychology is that by reaching that optimum state of alertedness before a race you start to lean towards peak performance. It's just one of the useful tools sport science offers for pieceing together the puzzle of reaching that flow state that so many pro riders talk about. Am more than happy to send some information Brendans way as you guys requested. I have been involved in training Motocross athletes and working with team managers and race teams like Yamaha UK for quite some time. The Sport Science Academy is a project that I have started to help Motocross and Mountain Bikers take advantage of these benefits. I intend to release training packages and content shortly in the future. Regardless, keep the good content coming guys

I was never fussed about the delay between Olly and Davi, or the fact that it was over the interwebs, but I have to say having the studio has just pushed the podcast so much further. Feels so much more natural now, and the conversation just flows much nicer. ps. Loving the longer ~2hours format.

Guys I'm 42 now been mountain biking since 1992. I wasn't a racer or anywhere near the best . My equivalent of what you're describing is grass went through my spokes on my specialized rockhopper no suspension and I went otb down a 10 foot riverbank headfirst towards a pointy stone. Slow motion kicked in so I put my left arm/strong arm out to deflect myself. I stood up an couldn't believe it I was fine. My mate said pass up your bike. I grabbed my bike then realised my wrist had snapped off then dislocated further up my arm. I blamed my toestraps so I bought spds when my cast was away to come off out of a magazine no Internet Anyway from then on I certain terrain I went so slow it was ridiculous because I had officially broken my no fear bone.

Brilliant episode watched the whole thing in 1 sitting, like others have said, having the studio has made a huge difference, and feels like I am just listening in to some friends at the next table in the pub 😂. Love the dynamic between Oli and Bren…you can just tell they have been friends for years.

Really appreciate the kind words and it’s awesome to see the (HUGE) investment into the space paying off. I think Olly and I (Davi) would both agree that it’s taken some time to feel totally comfy but we are getting there slowly. There’s been so many things to get used to, test, change and adapt… Comments like this really help! 🤙🏼

@@TheRideCompanion an investment well worth it, you are both nailing it and I think the podcast will only go from strength to strength 😀👍. Also tell olly him and his mates are the reason I have so many injuries 😂 at 51 years old I don’t bounce like I used to and watching the likes of olly, bren, Sam, etc has me thinking I am 12 years old on my bmx again unfortunately my enthusiasm outweighs my ability 😂😂

My first time seeing the dog was at a race back in 2001 I think, someone said Keep an eye on that kid he is going far, at that time he was chatting to mum, she was running all over the place making sure he little boy had the best time at the race venue.

Awesome stuff guys, incredibly informative and entertaining! FYI, I rode without an ACL for 29 years and finally had a replacement (hamstring) 4 months ago. First 15-20 years without a ligament were absolutely fine but the last few years were an absolute pain. I highly recommend getting it done at some point! 😅

I’m not a sport psychologist. But, for example the sort of things you can learn, is not so much what they tell you, but how they teach you to access your own resources. So, for example, getting you to imagine a time when you did feel really confident, and how that felt etc, and then learning cues that you can use to put yourself in that mental state when you need it.

i enjoyed this talk, thanks for sharing all these insights and stories.. w/ the risk of provoking an ugly reaction, the "we're pregnant" was/is being used as a show of support, a collective effort, as in "we are in this together". so no, it's not about the gendering, it's usage is also much older than the current discourse about genders. also, misgendering on purpose is not the same as a mistake, one is rude (at best) and the other is as the word says, a mistake :)

They're called clipless because oldschool pedals with toe straps were called "clips". So naturally to make it confusing as, they had to call the pedals with actual clips "clipless".

I disagree about Brendogs take on 'edits' - in 20 years time I doubt any Instagram edits will be remembered (there will be kids doing stuff that will put the current content into the Instagram abyss pretty quickly , it's the nature of the beast) , they will just end up looking dated just like vids from the 1990's do these days. Where as World Cup trophies in the cabinet and in the history books will never be forgotten. Any social media post has an incredibly short lifespan. It's kinda shitting on the guys and girls who still put their bodies on the line to give everything and win stuff, its not all about views, i mean maybe everyone should just give up racing and sell their souls to their socials, right?

I've always thought it must be so disheartening when you've put your all into a downhill race run and you're 3 seconds off and the racer finishes in 10th or whatever. People win by 10ths of seconds.

A lot of people will have come here for The Dog. But not me, no not me. I’m here to endorse the Nitro Water Worx thingy. The success of this awesome Pod is entirely due to its ability to attract listeners to catch the latest advert. Some will say they are cheesy bol**cks. But they’re wrong. Just wrong. These are serious products advertised in a serious and exceptionally serious way. Here we see true creatives doing what they were born to do:- entertain 🎉🎉🎉
