It is important to know How to read Concrete Plans, and it isn't something that is covered during university. When starting out reading concrete drawings can seem overly complex, however, when you break down the layers of concrete documentation it isn't that complex.
understanding concrete plan drawings is something you will use day in day out as structural engineering, and this video will cover you will need to understand how to dead concrete plans

Cannot tell you how much your helping me! I'm a former bartender of 17 years, covid and health issues have pushed me into office work. I have now become a project manager for a contracting company that does concrete and asphalt paving. I look like less and less of a fool, partly because of your videos. Thank you!

It's nice to see that the standardization of drawings is still pretty understandable and translatable (does this word exists?) between our countries, and that even some of the methods of calculation are the same, as indicated by the general distribution of the steel bars. It's nice to see a channel like yours! Cheers from Brazil!

Hello Brendan! This is hands down really useful stuff that is not taught in universities. Glad that structural engineers like you exist to help out fresh graduates. Also, I would like to make a suggestion for a new video, it would be really helpful if you analyse and design a simple residential/commercial structure and make a video out of it. And thanks for your videos, they are very helpful and informative!

Great video! Very informative and practical. I enjoy looking at how different companies present their drawings. It doesn't matter how good your design is, at the end of the day our product is the drawings we produce. I like to use colors, as this makes it much easier, and quicker, to distinguish between different elements and highlighting important information.

Hullo Brendan, thanks for the video. Good to see how different countries detail their drawings. I like how the complexity in the drawings can be broken down into simpler plans. That way, the builder is able to follow the drawings systematically without being perplexed.

Hi Brendan, another great video, keep them coming. I think your videos on drawings should also give credit to the highly skilled practioners who prepare drawings. As we know, behind every good engineer there is an even greater designer and/or drafter. Without these highly skilled professionals the engineering world would ceast to exist. I'd like to see you do a video that champions designers, modellers and drafters and the incredibly imporatant role they play in engineering, especially designers who qualify as engineering associates with Engineers Australia and bring an incredible about of complimentary design and engineering skills sets to the engineering workflows.
@BrendanHasty

Hi SMP, I agree great modellers/drafters is invaluable. They pick up on design issues and help design buildings. It doesn't matter how good your engineering is, drawing are where all the value comes from. Agree on the video idea, I will just need work out a way to make it interesting.
