Great video 😃Dig the C64 style so much, Thankyou! 👍 ***UPDATE*** I just found it! for those who might be interested , it's called Endless Forms Most Beautiful There is a game that I think was a fairly recent C64 release (perhaps released in the past 5-10 years) and it was a little guy with a funny shaped head (I think he was mostly white) that would go up and down several platforms on a single screen level and avoid the monsters. I played it a few years ago and I can't remember the name or anything else but it was a really slick game with great music too and really looked like a modern C64 game game for sure, I just wish I good find it again, I've been looking around still but no success. I figured maybe someone here might know this game ?

I was not sure if anyone would guess which one it was based on my vague description😅 So I had another look and this time found a website called gggames and it was in one of their best of lists, just the same as you mentioned for your channel. I just discovered it actually uses some popular songs for the music like Aerosmith and Led Zeplin tunes, really cool stuff and such a simple but addictive gameplay too and I love the colours and animation. You do great work on this channel especially showcasing these fantastic games, I would never know about them if not for channels like yours. I also saw that you have a ton of videos covering a lot of other cool retro stuff, looking forward to checking these out. Thanks again for the video, I enjoyed seeing all these C64 games, it's an amazing system along with the Amiga. I had both growing up and it always feels good seeing the original and the new modern made games for these venerable machines! Thanks for your reply 👍😃

@@mechanicalpants no probs , yeah it uses a lot of unlicenced music 🤣 hence there are 2 different versions of it musically on the c64 .. the physical released version has no aerosmith & zeppelin. Yeah please check out the rest of the channel , is you're a c64 guy then my 40thanniversary c64 documentary and top 200 c64 games may interest you and i have tons of other vids covering classic computers and consoles . I've counted and played 236 new games released for the C64, from 256-byte stuff right up to the incredible multi-disk efforts such as Lykia and Eye of the Beholder (and Eye of the Beholder is my game of the year). And there are over a hundred titles still in development that I am aware of. So, 2022 has been a great year and I'm looking forward to 2023 and more of your videos. Happy New Year!

Well what a year it's been, some simply amazing releases on the 40 year old bread bin. I hope some coders take a look at previous arcade conversions that wasn't so well received and give them a new lick of paint. Genuinely shocked when Eye of the beholder came up but I fully understand your reasoning why. I've played it and for me goes beyond the 16 bit releases adding a map. The graphical quality of these games look absolutely amazing! The Sonic game looks and sounds very true to the original, and the framerate looks to be much better than I'd expect for a game with graphics of that quality and the screen drawing speed required to keep up with Sonic's fast paced gameplay.

I loved Bombjack on the C64 especially the music...more than the arcade. This Robot Jet Action is nothing like it....but I do like it.

Yeah they all do perfectly , Sonic needs the c64 expansion pack but will still run a real C64 if you have one

Glad you mentioned Bombjack. It's really unplayable on the c64. The Amstrad cpc version is way, way better. Sonic is excellent, Pillars is a nice Columns clone. I want Buzzsaw a Pac Attack clone which was recently made for the Speccy. I also want a Baku Baku game and maybe a Yoshi (Nes/ GB/) puzzler. The power is there with the REU and improved techniques. Here's hoping.

Loved the video, as always 🤗 great work. As a long time player of eye of the beholder and a lover of all the serie and also as an aged dungeon master on ad&d pen and paper I was following the development and I already played it on c64 (really on a c128 with dual screen for automap) and it is outstanding. It's correct to put eotb64 out of the chart because it's not event comparable to other games, it's out of scale 🤗😁
