Brendon Urie offstage during the Fever era

These are just some fun highlights... there are definitely a ton of videos missing (especially from July - December 2006). This edit really should be over 2 hours long, sorry.
Also - these clips are roughly in order. Sometimes I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put something in the context of when it was filmed vs when it aired. The June/July and November/December areas of 2006 are very very loosely organized. And the BBC Live Lounge clip at 55:23 is from March 2008, but I wanted to stick it at a point in this video after you'd been watching the haircut grow out for a bit :)

In the beginning of the video he’s super shy seeming and then he slowly starts to become more confident (at least on the outside but according to him, he wasn’t actually confident) but I think i worded that hella weird

​@@midnight_x_edits it's not fake in a bad way!! he and Ryan both talked about how Brendon had to step into a confident persona onstage like an actor... and then by spring 2006 Brendon had figured out that bravado and was able to step into that character offstage as well. (Ryan even mentioned a couple times in 2006 that Brendon was acting offstage too). Look at the difference between Brendon talking to the camera during the behind-the-scenes videos for IWSNT vs BIBIYD. Those were filmed 3 months apart. It was pretty easy to tell in spring 2006 that Brendon had learned how to project that bravado as a sort of shield. He was naturally loud & outgoing, yet shy and self-conscious at the same time... plus he realllllly seemed to think he was annoying to be around & that people were being nice to "tolerate" his presence. His confidence was often faked, but that doesn't mean that HE was fake! The guys shot to international fame really quickly, which would've been challenging even if the attention had been largely positive (which it often wasn't). Brendon had to deal with so so so much in 2006, and I just figured that the persona he sometimes projected was one way of coping.

I think only time will tell if he’ll ever actually realize that “hey, I’m awesome!” like everyone tries to tell him.

I wonder why at 11:00 he said that Ryan’s parents became supportive. I always thought his dad disowned him when he quit school. Maybe it was so people would stop asking about it :(

both are true. it sounded like his dad was really upset at the end of 2004 when Ryan dropped out of college after the band met Pete, but by the start of 2006 the guys had paid back their family & friends and were clearly succeeding as a band. Ryan talked about his relationship with his father in many interviews and said that he was more supportive once he saw that the band would be an actual legit job. It sounded like they were working on their relationship by spring 2006 and understood each other better by that summer.
