Brent might've put himself on the map even more with Wasteland. I was up til 1AM vibing out to this and there's virtually no mises on here from production to lyrics. The theme of the album seems to be that Wasteland is the place Brent is in where his newfound fame is exposing him to things he probably wasn't prepared for, and the world now is a wasteland where all of his toxic ways of life is dumped. Overall, it's an 9/10 for me. Favorite tracks: *Gravity, Loose Change, Ghetto Gatsby, Dead Man Walking, Price of Fame, Angel, Addictions, Jackie Brown*

Initially listening to this album, I enjoyed it and a couple songs definitely stood out to me as songs I wanted to listen to right away again, but agree that it didn't hit has fast as Fuck the World. But, I will say this album grew on me and I listen through it all without skipping songs. Huge fan of his. I appreciate music that can grow on you and the more you listen, the more you appreciate and pick up little things that were missed with the first listens. Enjoy your content, thank you for sharing!

Definitely a moody and more mature sound than before, his debut Sonder Son is still my favourite Brent project but the evolution from that to this sound is very interesting, departing from the guitars of Sonder Son and changing it up with the plucky synths and Raphael Saadiq-esque strings. I would love to see a Sonder Son reaction from you Jon, I highly recommend it (and maybe even Sonder's Into EP which is concise but hard-hitting)

Then Wake Up Call is just beautiful written, and detailed. The skits elevated the album which is rare and its done so well I dont skip em.

​@@TheDominiqueBallou Yeah I think this was the perfect time and opportunity for Brent to switch up his sound, there is not much production from DPat and LosHendrix and none from Atu, who were all over his earlier projects. The skits did a great job of tying the whole album together. This album was like a screenplay and a journey through Brent's mindstate after achieving fame, while I would say Sonder Son was a more abstract collection of songs that described Brent's situation in that period of his life where he was just on the verge of fame but still struggling to make ends meet. Both albums are excellent

This album only gets better with multiple listens, I've gone through it roughly 15 times since release and this is my opinion on it. It's Brent's best album, vocally this is his best and he sounds amazing in every song, I love the meaning and story being told in the skits, the instrumentals are insane and unique but it fits with the mood of Wasteland. It's not perfect but nothing is and I believe this will go down as a classic.
