@@KavenGirouard you know by any chances rougly what scales were used in this solo? I am trying to get into country guitar soloing, but i just cannot figure out what scales do people use? This one has so much passing notes, it looks like chromatics half the time. If you could let me know, it would mean the world to me.
@KavenGirouard Жыл бұрын
@@teofiloljubisavljevic7943 Yep! A lot is going on here! Kind of a mix of Mixolydian mode, major/minor pentatonic, blues scale... lots of passing notes. Makes it impossible to determine a specific scale!

My Sharona, Brent Mason, John Scofield, SRV, Jimi, Brad Paisley, Urban.. Jeez dude. You're very diversive. Your transcriptions are exact and the playing is flawless. I'm into a lot of the same music. I played in a country band for years but was always an SRV fan. I know a ton of SRV stuff but as you know the chromatic country open string stuff, and the counter intuitive interval jump melodic stuff of Scofield are different worlds. You really got it all. A rare talent that has a grasp of many different styles. I do a few note for note videos but I don't have the tech skills to put videos together like this with the tab, graphics, and sound you have. I'm blown away. You have a new subscriber and I'll be telling my other musician friends about this channel. It's incredible. Excellent. Bravo!!!!!

So freakin good. When this song was on top I was in a band that covered this. Three lead players. One of them did a lot of steel and fiddle, the other added some mando and took the slide parts so that helped with not too much guitar. I put down the electric and took the acoustic parts when needed. I worked on that acoustic ride for so freakin long before it felt like I had it respectable. Can't remember how it goes to play it now. From watching you I likely missed a couple things. Dude, just outstanding.

Interesting how you seem to anchor your wrist when you switch to certain parts of the acoustic guitar....more movement in your wrist also. Up down from the wrist not the elbow. Around 1:55....when you're not hammer on/pull off or using fingers to pick. You are alternate picking every note around 1:55. I want to hear your thoughts as to why you anchor your wrist. Movement is all from the elbow at around 00:20.....with the electric and you are doing straight alternate picking
@KavenGirouard3 жыл бұрын
I wish I had an answer for you!! I don't think about it, it simply happens... On the acoustic my wrist is not always anchored, it looks like it, but it's only because my right hand is close to the bridge! As for the movement in the elbow around 00:20, it's caused by my lack of shredding/alternate picking technique ;) I can't play fast 🤷🏻♂️
