I first read the Night Angel trilogy about 13 years ago when I was 13 years old. At the time, it was the most dense series I ever got into, and it set me off on this path of loving fantasy worlds that I am beyond thankful to Brent Weeks for. I have been re-reading the trilogy lately now that I am more able to grasp all of the juicy writing involved, and I simply can't put it down. Every single time I go to the fantasy section of a Barnes & Noble seeking new worlds to dive into, I ALWAYS end up gravitating back towards your books. You are truly one of the best minds to ever put pen to paper. I can hardly explain in words the level of excitement I had today when I found out that there is a new book coming out in April, I will be buying multiple copies ! Seriously thank you, Brent, from the bottom of my heart, for keeping my imagination alive all these years and continuing the traditions of strong, meaningful story telling. ❤ sincerely, fan for life

Night Angel is the first real fantasy book I've read and it got me hooked in the genre, I must have read the series dozens of times. I love how both magic systems in Night Angel and Lightbringer work off of light

I love your work, and have been a fan of yours for years since I first read The Night Angel trilogy. The Lightbringer series was fantastic. My favorite modern fantasy author. Thank you for all the stories you craft! No matter how long they are 😂 Your long time readers cherish every word and page spent in the world with those characters

Brent. I love your mind. Dude, your brain must be amazing. I finished the Night Angel series and it's the best fantasy book I've ever read. I'm shocked that I've fallen in love with characters that you've created in your mind. Would love to meet you and shake your hand. Ive started light bringer now with Kip the Lip ;P I did read night angel as a teenager, loved it back then. Now I'm 30, I'm a dad. Listened to Night Angel on Audible with Graphic Audio, so epic. I really hope your next book comes out on Graphic Audio again.

I finished the Night Angel Trilogy in August. I’m so happy to hear the new book will be first person from Kylar. Brent you’re are becoming one of my favorite authors. I’m currently reading The Broken Eye and I can’t get enough

Thanks for all the great detail. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and listening to both series over and over for inspiration. I love the complexity and simplicity of the magic systems. They seem so involved and complex at first and as the story goes on, I realized it’s really quite a simple system. It all seems to work well. I love the ideas of having a chance to speak to you personally in a group setting. I think that you plus 4 people would be ideal for an hour long chat. That way everyone would get 13-14 minutes if you want it a bit more structured. At least from my standpoint as I want to ask writing questions to improve my own story. I’ve gotten so much inspiration from your stories, along with many others, and as much as I want a story beyond the everdark gates and have a conversation about that, there’s so much more I’d want to know. Like did you know you’d write 5 books when you started lightbringer? Did you put crumbs in book one that would be brought back up in book 5 intentionally and how? Things like that. Too many questions but I think that’s why I love the series so much.

Hey Brent, loved the QnR as always. It's cool to hear you go off about anything writing related, so this was a fun watch. 48:00 I think in relation to group size (btw this is a really cool idea!) I'd say that maybe 5-ish would be good? I do a writing club with some friends (also via zoom) and with 7 of us we always go on for like 2-3 hours. Since you mentioned you only want to go for 1 hour, I'd think 5 people would be better.

I'm excited, I first read Night Angel in 2009. I'd say 5-7 people, 8 is a great number, but you need to include yourself in the total. For signups, instead of "xyz talk in four months" maybe have one form where fans list their interests (via checkbox) so you can sort through the best types of fans to add to whatever chat you felt like conducting. Then send them a request for confirmation of attendance. I find the next best thing to talking to someone is witnessing a "hopefully" pretty genuine conversation they have with someone else. A.K.A. podcast type discussion videos with all sorts of folks; their peers, their fans and outsiders.

The small group chats sound awesome, there's so many things I'd love to ask and hear your thoughts on. I think 8 is a good number. If you do ahead with these, would you have a sign up list on your website or would you organise attendees another way?

Talking about your questions to us, I hope that when you do the zoom calls, that you post them here on youtube. With a limited group size, I'd love to at least watch them over. I have plotted a few book series but never dove in due to life and laziness and probably a feeling of lack of self worth.

Hej Brent, always lookin forward to your Q&Rs :) Groupwise Videocalls get crowded with 9 or more. 4 is probably too personal for shy persons to not feel like getting lost in a group (positvely). I do think six or seven is best :) I think themes would be very nice, but not too far in advance. Maybe announce the next and the two after. Additionally: How would you filter who gets to join? Best Question Contest and if you get selected you cant be in the pool for the ones already announced? Something like that would be nice. This way fans can decide where they want to apply and you yourself wont get flooded by the same people all the time. Love ya Q&Rs and keep them coming, especially if you want to keep those talks private. (You can also record the personal meetings yourself and decide on singular questions/topics you want to post on KZbin, cut them and post them in a shorter video format. That would be great to get insights into those other talks as well :)) Love the idea. I dont know writers who would do this, esspecially for free (if that is the plan). Do whatever you can and want to handle workwise! Looking forward to Nemesis! See you

Great thoughts. Thank you. And yes, the plan is to do it for free. Kind of a pay it forward thing. I really needed this sort of thing when I was trying to get published and couldn’t find it-so I’m trying to give to those who are now in my old shoes. :) Appreciate your thoughts.

I'm really looking forward to this. Night angel is one of my favorite series. Out of curiosity, I see a NIV on your self. You a Christian? I ask this not judging. I'm myself a christian. Also, I see no narrator set for nemesis on audible. Who is it? Have you heard of the narrator Travis baldree? I'd love to hear him narate some of your work
@KyleAPemberton Жыл бұрын
Jesus Christ not Travis, he's super overrated. Keep Simon Vance he's excellent.
@billyguy7828 Жыл бұрын
@@KyleAPemberton I like Travis. But to each there own. I didn't actually listen to the Vance narration. I listened to the graphic audio versions. And also read the books of course

Simon Vance will be recording Nemesis and re-recording the original night angel trilogy to match 😁
