Super happy for Nunez, hope it does wonders for his confidence, a boost a this point in the seasons would be great. But, we kept a clean sheet and Ibou looked immense once again after the injury, and those two things make me almost happier, a couple of iffy moments defensively but at this ground against this team, yess ladsssss!!!! 37 goals in 107 appearances- not bad / 1 in 3 - but we paid big money for a 1 in 2 striker - that’s the issue that Darwin will always have - pretty sure he’s gone in summer but he can contribute nicely in the run in, especially as a 65-70 mins sub with Andy Roberson AND Chiesa - would love to see these three unleashed a lot more at the same time from the bench as they create a lot of headaches for tiring opposition defenders

I want Nunez to succeed, always did but he's just not good enough. Grabbing the winning goals in one game doesn't change that. He needs to start scoring more regularly and then he'll be accepted.

In my opinion, there's nobody that fits that role Diaz is playing (that's realistic) than Cunha! If Slot's plan is for someone to play as a false 9 in most games, Cunha is absolutely PERFECT. Total guesswork here, but I reckon Slot's ideal 9 is something in between Diaz and Nunez. A hybrid of the 2. Diaz is nowhere near consistent enough with his end product for the number of chances he gets. Nunez is very much the same. Diaz is the better footballer technically, Nunez has perfect positioning. Honestly, you'll struggle to find a striker with better positioning than Darwin. His movement is actually world-class, hence why he gets so many chances! Unfortunately though, he just hasn't found that composure at Liverpool. He's capable, no doubt about that, but he just doesn't have the mentality to play at Liverpool. If he hasn't managed to calm himself in front of goal by the age of what 25/26... He'll never have that composure. It isn't something that can be taught is it. That mentality and calmness to just slow everything down is either there naturally, or it isn't. Just as an example, you've only got to look at the likes of Jayden Danns. You can tell by watching him just 3 or 4 times that he has that ability to not panic when he gets a big chance. Even when he's been given a shot in the senior team, he just isn't phased one bit. He's still calm and composed through on goal. Put it this way: Final game of the season. 0-0 with 97 minutes played. 30 seconds left on the clock. Win the game and you win the league. Your striker is through on goal. Final chance. Who you choosing to be that player out of Nunez and Danns?? Absolute no-brainer in my opinion. Soon as Nunez is through on goal I actually expect him to miss. On the rare occasion that he's onside, you just expect him to hit the post or something. Anyway that was a very long story for a short point. Cunha is the man! He's more clinical than both Diaz and Nunez. He's better technically than both. He has the ability to actually lift his head and play through balls. He's actually got 14 goal contributions in 20 games in the Premier League for a terrible Wolves side! Imagine him with the amount of chances Liverpool create😳! Diaz has 12 contributions as a comparison, same number of games played, and Liverpool have created an obscene amount of chances this season! Nunez only has 6 in 16 games. GET CUNHA!

Dan, what are you on about man🤔? The comment about "you'd have loved for us to have gone out there and put in a performance that flexes our muscles, and says we're miles better than you. This is our ball you find your own" and followed it up with "that didn't happen, it was the opposite of that." How have you possibly analysed it like that😳🤔? Seriously Liverpool were completely dominant in every single aspect of the game, we just never finished off chances. Brentford got absolutely BATTERED for most of the 90+ minutes. I think we've got to a point where we analyse Liverpool games differently now. We can utterly dominate a game but only win 1-0, and everyone would be saying it was an even game. "Expectation analysis" I call it. Not analysed fairly.
