Good to see I'm agreeing with the likes of Ellis on art. If your aim is to spread a political message, it's just not art anymore. It needs to flow naturally, not be forced and concerned with "ticking all the boxes".

@docequis97965 жыл бұрын
Yep. Movies used to have their primary goal as entertainment and now feeling is the tool of movie makers to manipulate the audience to a political narrative instead of entertaining. Movies about only facts are documentaries or educationally instructional videos... kinda boring. So we rarely go anymore.

So why dont a conservative movie writer write a movie about a poor black gay couple who are some kind of entrepreneurs that are being oppressed by leftist policies which garner their time and energyandmake a decision to move to a freer part of the country and then they're able to succeed in their entrepreneurialism and they live a good life where no one bugs them about their identities and they dont feelvthe need to throw their identities into everyones face.

"Less Than Zero" - was a really influential book in my youth. First, the movie, and then discovering it was a book first. That nugget of learning that this movie was a book first lead me into finding all books that were written and thus turned into movies. I began a "book is better than the movie" purist thinking.
