I wanted to share a story with you guys and also the reasoning behind this song. Everything i write comes from a special place. I get inspired by people i meet and stories i hear. So i met this old couple about 2 weeks ago at the park. It was the cutest old man and his wife and he was helping her walk. He told how theyd been married for 45 years and that he had never regretted a moment spent together. His wife's health had been detereorating recently and she was having trouble walking. He said he couldn't see himself without her, so he was spending every moment he could with her. She was so sweet and fragile and it was so heart warming seeing how much they cared about each other after so many years. I hope you guys enjoy my little tribute to them. .

I thoroughly enjoy this song, with its mature take on love ~ which is a beautiful journey as opposed to a rushed & distorted destination. The video doesn’t disappoint but wholly supports the theme of true passion, which ever yearns to hold on for the ride; to learn what otherwise, cannot be known. Love it -- what a beautiful video /soft light and moments. Love blasting this song on the radio on The Highway in our truck and what sweet and beautiful lyrics. Proud to be country :) Have to laugh at the comments below - I think the age difference in the video is great as it reflects the many global fans that Eldredge has and whether it's young love, more mature love or a second chance at love -- - so many of us crave true love/happiness in our lifetime. Sadie represents that young love that hopefully she and young women of her generation will find one day and deserves to be loved, cherished and treasured. No different for young men. Same with Brett's age after searching for many years - the heart is wanting to find that One and taking that risk and chance. The lyrics reflect that --- a time to settle down, being ready and open to finding someone that is worth taking the long way around your town ;) Having said that --- there is 10 years between my hubby and I ---- 24 years later we are still going strong ! We took "the long way around town" many years ago, 2 sons later and many pets, many life experiences side by side ... and I wouldn't change a thing ;)
