I agree comparing a rookie to a first ballot HOF'er may be unfair to both. That said, Lattimore is literally taking half the field away just like Deion in his prime. In my opinion,the only thing stopping Lattimore from a similar career is injury and how he preforms when he starts making the big money. I've seen the latter destroy many a promising player over my many years of watching this game.

I'm a Bengals fan and it hurts me to think about us drafting John Ross over Lattimore. Even though William Jackson is playing well and our cbs are overall fairly good, we could have had Marshon Lattimore and Jackon combined for years to come. Damnit.

Yeah, its a tough line to walk. The saints rewarded Brees with the huge contract and we're still feeling the effects of that one. We couldn't afford to build a team around him. Had to release Malcolm Jenkins and Darren Sproles because we simply couldn't pay everyone. But you can't let an elite talent like Lattimore get away. Gotta find a way to make it work.
