That’s exactly why I say I’m not riding anything without a key, like your buddy in this video. One night, my horse got spooked and took off at a full run. No matter what I did, I couldn’t stop him-he wouldn’t respond to the bit at all. Then, out of nowhere, he stopped on a dime, and I went flying right over him. I’ve been in motorcycle crashes and car accidents, but that horse crash was by far the worst one I’ve ever experienced.

Get a Goat and Go! I was a pro guide most of my adult life. I'm retired now and I raise pack goats. They are my most favorite pack stock I have ever worked with. They'll run to you if they get spooked. Best trail companions as well, more loyal than most dogs. Try it you'll like it! I only use a pickup truck to haul my crew around.

That wire on the ground can really be bad. I was hiking south of Tucson near Mission Mine and came across two mule deer carcasses. Their horns were locked and had gotten tangled in a four strand wire fence that was on the ground. They must have struggled mightily as the stands were wrapped tight just like a cable! I had a photo for years but lost it.

Thats a shame .. I do know its bad if you get your mule or horse tangled up in it .. Thanks

That's true about a horse or mule picking up wire on the ground AFTER they've stepped over it .. happened to me once while out trying to push cows out of thick oak brush.. I saw the wire... got off and stepped over it and tried to lead a mare real gentle over it.. I'll be dammed if she didn't step over and just cleared the wire with the front right hoof, and stepping forward, I think the rim of her shoe just barely picked it up ... but the pull and the sounds of the wire in the grass and leaves on both sides of her for 10 yards in either direction, spooked her and she lunged backwards, causing the wire to hang up in the cornet on the back of her hoof .. And then the REAL SHTF.. By the time I got her settled down and stable, she had drug a 100 yards of wire from who knows where, I was all cut up and thanking God for leather gloves, chaps, coat and heavy felt hat.. Or it would have been real bad on me... But she had a gash on the back of her leg 1/2" deep and all the way across the top of the cornet... Tore her shoe clean off and somehow my saddle got sideways .. my own lariat was wrapped around me and we were both hating our job that day .. From then on, I just cut any wire on the ground. I won't chance that ever again. 😂

I've packed in the Gila for 30 years often leaving deer camps set up for a week or two with no trouble until the last few years. I used to set up my tent, throw my gear inside sometimes with alfalfa pellets and come back a week later to hunt. In 2019 I had a bear get into my horse feed that I had tied up in a tarp and stashed under a tree. In 2021 I had a bear chew a giant hole in my wall tent that I had left set up the week before. After that I tried hanging my camp in trees in duffel bags and panniers. In 2022, I had a bear get up into the tree and chew up some of my stuff. I'd be more worried about a bear tearing up that expensive tent you have rather than a person coming by to bother it. I went about 25 years doing this every fall without incident. I'm sure you've done the same. You "never" have trouble.... until you do....

Hey Brother! They changed to regs on public lands...it sucks but they have it set up to where you can only stay in the forest for 2 weeks then 60-day break or go to another public lands. I was just told this by the Columbine NFS District Chief. He let me know I was breaking the rule this past fall. Being I use goats I do not blend in. They get reports on me all the time. 🤐

@BrettVaughnB100 as we Americans read left to right, we date time right to left, as the Roman numerals to sat the kings of Europe you take the Roman numerals on the Clock, like big Ben notice as they go over to under they go upside down this making halve of the cycle make you a lot older then you really are, the x the king used stood for the old term once removed, and notice the Romans did not use alpha as numerals a letter is not a number, man can't date his own family beyond 300 years and to say man kept track two thousand and twenty five is a dream as King James is not 300 years old and write the first bible in English that he didn't even know how to read then as all were Germanic Irish Scottish Russian. Ask the first prime minister of Canada Mc Donald how the union Pacific railway crossed his lands 10 before the name of America was created and america was said to have the first railway. Your a smart man as yourself how is it possible to fight a war and draw the most perfect border of America and Canada? You slam the door and that same very day create new currency of the french just as the people below America speak the same language as Canada, Spanish is French
@DillardDenton-qu4winds2 күн бұрын
Also Canada set the direction of travel, if you're in Canada and their history tells you that the Hudson bay is west of them where does that really put you? This is the old term back east traveled in time, west can't be west to America if Asia claims it's easy of America. The term you use , up and onward is the correct
