Thank you! I've been patiently waiting for your review on this system and appreciate the comparison with the Brew Easy Classic. Cheers!

Its pretty! Two many negatives, for the price. Thanks for sharing.

My current setup is my Top Tier 3 vessel setup. It takes up a lot of space, but it's paid for and I have a lot of great brewing memories with it. My mashtun is also "custom", so I would hate to part with it if I upgraded. I also don't have to have a 240V wired in my garage either, since my setup is propane based. I've become more of a minimalist brewer. I don't want to have a lot of accumulated brewing gear that takes up a lot of storage in my garage, so the Surface has caught my attention. Ideally, a 20 gallon Surface kettle with a brewing bag and fb (to keep the bag from being scorched) would be more than good enough for my needs, and I'm kinda leaning that way. One vessel to store, not a lot of triclamp connections (I don't care about flow meters, etc.), no elements to keep clean, and the ability to brew in my garage during the cold/hot days without worry of co emissions from propane. Decision, decisions.

I like the Top Tier brew Stand. I bought a used one to take advantage of gravity out of my mashtun. Very sturdy.

@@beeroquoisnation That's what makes it so hard for me to upgrade. Like you mentioned, it's very sturdy. I like how modular it is too.

I prefer the old fashion way ,cheap easy single infusion with a igloo cooler . Cheers

Both ways are fascinating. One for its simplicity the other for the tech and stainless steel porn.

Yep. Gimme a $30 brew bag and a kettle any day. Only 1 container to clean and don’t have to worry about cleaning hoses/pumps

I am very lucky living in the south.. driveway brewing in shorts and flip flops makes clean up real easy. Brewing in the snow sounds like a fun experience.. cleaning up.. not so much.. Those “systems” seem to have to many things that can go wrong…

Doing well. I hope to hit my target numbers in another month or two before I get back into the hobby. However, I now have a major home remodel starting up this spring/summer which will also keep me away from any hobbies until it's done.

What size Bach the 20 gal will do?
@BEERNBBQBYLARRY Жыл бұрын
Blichmann names their systems after their “batch size”, so their 20 gallon system will make 20 gallons.

I think the relatively small grain capacity is a deal breaker.
