I have this same kit but mine has cashmere hops instead of Columbus. It also came with lallemand new England Ale yeast rather than us04. Have had it almost a year seeing your video reminded me about it. Very good video way better than I could have done. Going to try the kit tomorrow 💪

I seem to have read my hydrometer wrong, I did get the 1.057. Strange you ended up with 4.7. They say to strain the trub too, so that can't be it.

@@EsCoBrewing I'm going to use my grain bag to dry hop, hoping for less trub. Also hoping to also get past 5%abv, kind of sick of making session beers heh

Not a super experienced brewer by any means, but I wonder if your ABV might have been helped out a bit by sparging your strained wort? Maybe filling the fermenter with water straining through the sediment would've washed more of the fermentable sugars off into your fermenter? Either way, glad it turned out well! I think the next recipe I'm gonna brew is Mr. Beer's Pennsylvania Traditional Lager. it's a Yuengling clone, and being from the eastern US, I LOVVVVEEE Yuengling. It'd be pretty amazing to be able to brew my own! You should give that one a brew on the channel! Anywho, cheers dude, happy brewing!

Hey thanks for the comments, yes I think you are right, I should have tried that, it might have brought the ABV up. Next time I will have to try that. Yes I would love to do that Mr Beer recipe on the channel as well as more Mr beer ones. Unfortunately the kits are really hard to get in Canada now. All the stores and online stores that used to carry them no longer do. And Mr beer doesn’t ship to Canada, which is completely silly to me, like it’s 2020 mr beer, shipping internationally is not that hard 🤣 cheers and happy brewing

Hi! I would like to know how much water did you used on the red pot, for the first steep to convert process. Thanks for your videos!!!
@EsCoBrewing3 жыл бұрын
Hey there unfortunately I cannot remember the exact amount, but I know I used the amount in the instructions that came from the kit. The nice thing is if you go to the brewers best web site they have all of the instructions on their site for each of the kits. Hope that helps

Hi this fermenting bucket is from the coopers diy beer kit, if you do a internet search there are many stores that sell it , happy brewing, cheers

you literally uploaded while I was watching your previous unboxing 12:37 ya- How did you keep the steep at 180 deg, did you turn the stove top on or let it sit . Also what temp do you ferment at externally to keep the yeast happy? And the carbonation did you use sugar pellets ?
@EsCoBrewing4 жыл бұрын
to keep it 180 i would just watch the thermometer and when it would start to drop I would bump on the burner for a couple seconds and then turn it off again. And for the bottling I just used 2 teaspoons of dextrose sugar in the 740 ml bottles. for 500 ml bottles you use one teaspoon. if you are using sugar pellets (carbonation drops) use 2 for 740 bottles and 1 for 500 ml bottles. cheers and happy brewing

in the video you add water to 23 liters mark but this kit is for 18 liters maybe this is why your ABV is low
@EsCoBrewing2 жыл бұрын
Well shoot, that totally makes sense… maybe I need to take it easy on drinking too many beers while making the beer 🤣

Little suggestion, get a friggin' tripod. They're like $30 off Amazon and will dramatically improve your shooting angles and abilities. Not sure what you're using to record now but even if it's just your phone, most of them come with phone mounts that fit your phone on the tripod.
