Props to Freddie Montas for his performance tonight! 7 innings of shutout 1 hit baseball!! He was dominant tonight! Great win against a divisional opponent! Okay and one more nod HAS to go to D.Williams! Bottom of the 9th inning, BASES LOADED, only 1 out. Paul Goldschmidt up to bat, and he STRUCK HIM OUT!! Next Batter, STRUCK HIM OUT to end the game!! Now THAT is the definition of a SAVE!! This team is performing better than ever! WOW!

Sign of a solid team, they do it with pitching sometimes, defense and at the plate. Keep it going boys, all the way to the end

I again need to apologize to the Front Office of the Brewers organization. I bashed them for trading Josh Hader and Corbin Burnes. For making moves I thought were foolish. However in the end, this team is BETTER than last year's team by leaps and bounds. Hader and Burnes were becoming Divas and their greed was overshadowing their dedication. I see that now. THIS team, which is loaded with young players, rookies, 2nd year players, and some veterans have shown me more dedication and love for this team and the game of baseball than Hader and Burnes ever did, especially in their last years with us. Joey Ortiz is becoming a superstar! Jackson Chourio is a top contender for the Rookie of the Year Award. Sal Frelick, Brice Turang, Blake Perkins, Garrett Mitchell, Tyler Black, are all basically rookies, but they are playing like seasoned vets. Pat Murphy has done a phenomenal job with these guys, and again the front office, when they could have gone crazy with all of the injuries, they kept their heads on straight and didn't panic. They picked up a couple of capable Pitchers, who are starting to get much much better. Montas looked dominant in this outing. This team has some really great players right now. The potential for success is higher than I've seen again since 1978 and those years with Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, Ryan Braun, etc. ESPN hasn't given this team any attention or even much respect. Neither has the Fox network. Every week the "Game of the Week" is usually the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Astros, and even the Cubs who are what 12 games behind us get more television time that the Brewers have. However that may be a good thing. Overlook this team. Write them off as a "fluke", or ?? Because right now they look great. If they can get some of their injured players back and they can get healthy, or healthier, this team could become even more dangerous. We may not have a Aaron Judge or a Shoei Otani, but we have a Rookie of the Year candidate, and a line-up full of some great all around TEAM PLAYERS! Players with great decision-making skills on the field and behind the plate. Players with exceptional speed and patience again both in the field and on the base paths. A team with exceptional depth. What teams have had as many injuries as the Brewers have had and have been as successful as this team has? Not very many I'd guess. If Garrett Mitchell and Tyler Black get hotter, and again if we can get back some of our injured players, and Jackson Chourio, William Contreras, Wily Adames, Rhys Hoskins, Sal Frelick, Brice Turang, Blake Perkins, and Joey Ortiz can stay hot or get hotter, and if Colin Rea can keep up his incredible work, this team could be one of the most dangerous teams in the MLB! Once again I apologize for my lack of loyalty for a team that I've loved since I was a kid. Watching this team has been amazing, incredible, unbelievable, exciting, and just plain FUN!! Especially when your team is performing as well or better than teams that have shelled out contracts like the Dodgers and the Yankees have. It would be an extra special moment if this team could make it to the Series. Given their incredible resiliency, I won't put anything past them. GO BREWERS GO!!!!!

Brewers pitching is stepping up, especially the starters. If they get DL Hall and Trev Megill back by the start of Sept, Brewers are going to be SCARY good.

After we traded Hader during a playoff run, then we decided to trade Corbin Burnes, and we lost Craig Counsell-out, and some other players I honestly didn't give them a chance. I guessed 60-70 wins. They've already surpassed that, so I was SO SO WRONG!! It was my frustration of the small market excuses I've heard since 1978. But it's a reality when teams like the Dodgers and the Yankees spend $50-60 million per year on a player. I didn't think we got enough for what we gave up. However Joey Ortiz is a STAR already, and he has the potential to be a superstar. DL Hall is another part of that trade as you said and he also has a lot of potential. Robert Gasser, part of the Hader deal is another potential star. Both Hall and Gasser were injured as was half of the pitching staff. Yet Pat Murphy has done a phenomenal job with these kids. Rookies, 20 year olds, 2nd year players. He's somehow never missed a beat. If there was EVER a manager who deserves the Manager of the Year Award, it is Pat Murphy! This team has truly blown me away. This is one of the most exciting teams I've seen since 1982, and those days of Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, Ryan Braun, etc. I'll be the first to admit, I was wrong about this team's decisions. That's exactly why I am NOT a General Manager.
