"You can use wheat malt in almost every style of wheat beer!" This is really good stuff, guys.

I've been using all grain horse food as my adjunct for years, it has unmalted barley, oats, and corn. Coated in molasses. I'm using rice for my next batch though.

Hopefully!?... I liked this series a lot and I'll miss it. I feel like you guys could talk even more about grains and malts. Thanks for sharing.

We still got some individual grains to go over as well as our Maltster tour! Just don't have those formally planned out yet

Great video guys! As far as I know, you don't need to crush any of the flaked products; they can be added directly to your mash. I'm not sure you guys mentioned this? I had forgotten this simple trick in an IPA I recently brewed and I ended up getting my grain mill stuck due to the flaked oats in my grain bill.

Good add on - we've had people stick our mill by running flaked bits through it too :/

Thoughts on popping your own popcorn to try getting a different character from heritage or specialty popcorn varietals? The sheer volume would be an issue to deal with initially. I heard millett can be popped the same way

Since you mentioned Honey Smacks I want to brew a Honey Smacks beer. I tried once and thought I had all my ducks in a row but it turned out my ducks were died. Google has no idea what I'm thinking here so could you help me out with a basic recipe or idea where to start? Love the channel (kissing ass)!!!!!
@GenusBrewing4 жыл бұрын
Honey Smacks sound like a great blonde ale that could go well with a brighter flavor (maybe spruce) -- I would mash em in with some MOPA and a touch of Acid Malt, and maybe try the spruce tips at whirlpool.

Does any of this matter if you biab? I've noticed you just need a little extra water in your mash

The best beer I brewed to date: 85% Pilsner Malt 10% Flaked Rice 5% White Wheat Malt Magnum hops to bitter, then Saaz and Nelson Sauvin near the end...and also added some Amylo / Diazyme to increase the attenuation so it finished super dry in negative plato....so dry and crisp and refreshing...and those flaked rice additions made it pop!
