I started playing magic when kaldheim just came out. One of my friends who was already playing showed me Moritte Of The Frost, I didn't know what the text meant but I remember being amazed by the art. I shortly after made a deck with the help of a few friends and it remains my absolute favorite deck of my 8. I will always have a sweet spot and respect for Moritte as it got me into magic. I actually found your channel because of your Moritte deck tech.

I was building a Plargg/Augusta deck trying to abuse the tap/untap ability on Augusta, and a lot of cards mentioned during the Masako section would make incredible includes. Thanks for you work once again, been a fan for a while, and you make searching for good cards quite a lot faster.

Thanks Demo! Love seeing these. I pulled a Morite and was wondering what to do with it! My two favorite underwhelming commanders I have that are quite powerhouses are mono blue Voltron Charix and Tangarth first mate group slug.

Masako is in my liesa, shroud of dusk deck. She is a house. I’m all tapped out after attacks having just gained so much life. I’m an easy target 🎯. Then my opponent going in for the kill, I slam her down with flash. 😂 😂 😂 😂 it never gets old

Masako could lead a First Strike tribal deck, nobody wants to lose their creatures to first strike, and you still have a good board to block.

I think Starke and Xiahou Dun would be the most interesting. Clique,Kataki and Orcus are just too viable. Daughter of Autumn doesn't look good at all lol.

I have never, not once, with my Moritte deck, ever considered turning her into a land, animating said land, and slapping my opponent's face with it Faceless Haven? 👀

another hilarious thing that you can do kinda similar to moritte is using runo stromkirk (well, his backside, krothuss) to copy either mutavault or faceless haven while they're animated and attacking, because it'll give you 2 tapped copies of the land (except they're not animated due to the rules, so the "tapped and attacking" part of krothuss' ability doesn't put them in potential harm's way of being blocked), so it ramps you by attacking. in DIMIR. it's slow but it's fuckin bonkers lmao

I was inspired by your first deck tech for Moritte when you first did that, and it is one of my favourite decks! So many fun things you can do, even just in the lord strategy you originally did. My favourite ones are to cast an Alpha Status (giving Moritte +2/+2 for every creature ON THE BATTLEFIELD!), or to copy a Guardian Augmenter (results in Moritte being an 8/8 Hexproof) or Thunderfoot Baloth (results in Moritte being an 11/11 trample and you whole team getting +4/+4 and trample). The lands route is very cool though - I was wondering what else I could do with her, you always deliver interesting ideas : )

The moritte list you put together sounds similar to how you build and play Noyan Dar, who i one of my favorite weird commanders

A fun card in the moritte lands deck might be ashaya, giving the incidental creature land synergy to all of your creatures.

It’s also give great synergy to the destroy/bounce/exile of the “all nonland permanents” making them incredibly one sided

I just built Moritte, I like the unique build you went with, my deck is about clones/shapeshifters so if reflections of littjara is out one of morittes copies is choosing that for sure.

Vehicles seem really good in a Masako deck as does the monarch. Swing to get it, then block with your tapped creatures or flash in some of your tricky creatures to punish the attack.

I like that with Masako, she doesn't even have to be on the field to get the effect. Just having the mana open is like pseudo holding up blockers against your opponents.

I’ve built Moritte before, it was pretty fun, definitely a jump through the hoop deck but cauldron of souls plus big etb payoffs/ other persist creatures can do some really crazy stuff… is he really underwhelming?

I have Masako in my Niambi deck because she is Legendary and a good gotcha card for the deck. I have seen Starke and Xiahou Dun decks in the wild. Starke is interesting and fair to an extent (a ton of work to get him back all the time) and Xiahou Dun was a house, repeating degenerate black deck things is ridiculous (i.e. Exsanguinate for a bunch then next turn do it again).

I may have missed it but have you ever made a deck where you want your opponents to attack you? Using cards like selfless squire or deflecting palm to take advantage of it? You could use cards like trove of temptation

Another all-star in a Masako deck is Mikaeus, the Lunarch which I am quite pissed that he has such a low number of decks on EDHREC because I have more than enough times kicked someone's patoot in a game of Tiny Leaders with him whether as a Tiny Leader or in a Masako deck for the same format. So could you add him to your poll for the next time?

Was torn between Starke and Xiahou Dun. Xiahou Dun is such an awesome card, but I'm really interested in what angle you use to approach the Starke situation. The three kingdoms series in general is really neat. I would love to have a ton of them, but their cost is somewhat prohibitive.
