Great video. I think one of the things that is attractive about narrowboat videos, is that travel speed is much like a leisurely walking speed, and the scenery is so much better than walking along busy streets (for the most part). It beckons to a "simpler" life than what most of us currently live, and granted through the magic of video editing, we generally see the best of what cruising the cut has to offer. It's a good way to daydream for a few moments during the day. Thanks!

Hi Phil great to view another vlog from you. I love the shroppie. If you get a chance stop at a pub called the Anchor. Ozzy and Black Sabbath used to drink in that pub. Its a throw back in time. Peaceful mooring outside Locals are civilized and you will get a peaceful nights sleep after a beer or two. Keep safe .

I went past the Anchor. A bit in the "middle of nowhere", amazing it survives?

@@NarrowboatJourneys We pulled up at around 4pm on a hot afternoon outside the Anchor to find it closed and it opening later at 7pm. So I went back to the boat and had a kip for a few hours. Sitting outside the pub at 5 to 7 with a queue of locals one of whom informed me that the landlady opens when she feels like it.. A proper pub I thought ! ! It was and we had a great evening there.

Blooper alert! Phil...you say that "pretty much all visitor moorings on this canal are 48 hours", but then you moor up on the 17th and depart on the 21st. That's a bit more than 48 hours! :)

I would certainly like to moor up for 2-5 days. 48 hours would always seem to be a bit rushed.

I'm back here on the Surplus again.....😁...I just love hearing you turn that engine over!......I do come here often..When I want the comfort of the trees....I have a question? Are there some places you can moor up for days if you just don't feel like moving? And no one objects?

You can moor most places for 14 days. Some of the busier spots are restricted to shorter stays though.
