Once helped my mate move a huge couch into his tiny little flat. We literally had to dismantle his door and half his kitchen to get the thing in. Told him when he moves he better leave the couch behind. A couple years later he moved and wanted my help with the couch. I told him straight not a chance. He got his brother in law to help him and afterwards got the same reaction from his brother in law that he got from me, only more swear words.

Pro Tip: I learned this one from my father-in-law, whom I love and treasure dearly. Anytime the issue of moving came up, he was like, “I’ve had a recurring hernia, and I’m not suppose to lift anything heavy.” He actually did have one-it just only acted up when he was doing things he hated. LOL! I always offer to move stuff for him, but, when he sees that it might kill me, he always says, “ah screw it, I’ll pay somebody to move that. Let’s go have a beer.” God love him-he’s awesome.😎

Plus, once you move the damn thing . . . it has to be professionally leveled again. An almost bigger pain in the ass. Seriously, once you get the table in place and leveled-NEVER move it again-not even an inch. I made that mistake by scooting it like three feet to change out a chandelier. Wowsers-it took a team of engineers to get the thing leveled. Expensive and horrible.

when i was 14, i helped my sister & brother-in-law move. i helped move their 32 inch CRT TV. so about 100+ pounds. we moved all the way into the U-Haul. right as soon as we stepped into the the U-Haul, my fingers slipped and the TV banged onto an edge of something. it scratched the bezel. like a 1 inch scratch. 17 years later they still bring it up. They talked about it no less than a month ago.
