If you go east up the freeway into a little town called placerville, there’s a liquor mart called placerville drive market and liquor that has some insanely hard to find bottles. Market up here isn’t too saturated yet

Many good bottles are available in the western states. The farther you get from Kentucky, the less popular it is. I feel bad when everyone says they can't get bottles that are widely available around me. Not necessarily RR15, but lots of bottles are.

Stopped by his store one time just to see what they have and it seemed like he got personally offended when I didn't buy anything. Tried starting a conversation about some of the more allocated stuff after a huge drop that happened in Napa to see if he had heard about it and he just talked down to me. Called me a tater as I was walking out of the store, I was honestly stunned after I got back in my car. No idea what happened. Weirdest interaction I've ever had with a business owner before.

YOu gotta be a super loyalty program member to get any of the allocated stuff. even as a decent spending member, you'll get "access" to buy the allocated at secondary prices. if you're not a regular .. you get nothing unless you want to pay big money for them.

I do have one request though, when you are talking about something going on or coming could you please mention the month and particularly the year, can't always tell if what your talking about has taken place yet or not. Thanks for showing me my own backyard! My only 'fancy" bottle is Old Louisville Batch 2. On a trailer trip to Louisville and a random search found the place. It was in industrial part of Louisville with an empty small parking lot and locked door. Several knocks on the door and amine emerged from his duties to let us taste. Super nice guy with great background story.

The Bottleshop stores around Sac have a decent selection as well, although you'll pay close to secondary prices on some things. Corti Bros is a must for the deli and meat counter, but their wine/beer selection is much better than spirits. Will have to check some of these other places out too.

I am mainly a rye person. I recently found out the place I buy my whiskey is part of Neemans Market eventhough it is in a store called value check. Tha manager noticed I bought 2 store picks in a day for me and my boss. Rebel cask strength and Barrel rye. I have been buying here over 2 years and was looking at a Whistle Pig 18 out in the open. I asked how a store this small gets that and he told me they were part of Neemans. He said if you really like rare whiskey I know you have spent a lot here I can take you in the back room. He had cases of EH Taylor and he handed me a Whistle Pig 25 and said this is what we get. You should have went north from Springfield Illinois to Pekin Peoria area. I didn't buy the $1500 Whistle Pig 25 but the 18 is amazing.

I just said this on one of your shorts. But there’s a Grocery store on Drummond Island in Michigan. This store has a very surprising top shelf liquor selection. $150-$350 bourbons. The best part, it’s just in an isle. Bring cash, because it’s an island and the internet connection isn’t guaranteed. Happy hunting.

Roco is in my neighborhood, I believe it, amazing store, amazing family that runs it, they do a lot of stuff for the local schools and community as well, great people!! PS. it's not in Sacramento, it's in WEST Sacramento, different city. PPS. The Roco Sr calling you "Young man" is vintage Roco. I wouldn't have passed on the Russell's 15 and Single Rickhouse. I could sell the Russell's 10's to friends at a slight discount in 5 minutes. That would give me the other two bottles at a slight mark up which is not a big deal. The first two stores were really good.
