ইষ্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানী ও তাদের এদেশীয় অনুচর দেবী সিং এর অবর্ণনীয প্রজা পীড়নের বিরুদ্ধে তৎকালীন ভারতবর্ষে প্রথম যে নারী অস্ত্র হাতে রক্তক্ষয়ী ফকির সন্যাসী ও ১৭৮৩ সালে রংপুরর প্রজা বিদ্রোহের নেতৃতে দিযেছিলেন সেই কিংবদন্তির অগ্নিকন্যা ছিলেন পীরগাছার মন্থনা জমিদার। মন্থনা জমিদার দেবী চৌধুরানীর আসল নাম ছিল ‘‘জয়াদুর্গা দেবী চৌধুরানী’’। সাহিত্য সম্রা্ট বঙ্কিমচন্দ্র চট্রোপাধ্যায় তার রচিত আনন্দমঠ ও দেবী চৌধুরানীর নামে দু’খানা বই রচনা করেছিলেন। এখানে প্রতি বছর হিন্দু সম্প্রদায় পূজা পার্বন পালন করেন।
we are running in search of a zamindar house which is called Devi Chaudhurani zamindar bari or many people know it as Manthana zamindar bari located in Manthana in Pirgacha Upazila of Rangpur District Bangladesh which is also known as Rajbari today. 1703 to 4 AD This zamindar house covers about 8 acres of land Gurapattan but the zamindar house is spread around twenty acres of land surrounded by canals and large ponds cropland The founder of this zamindar house and dynasty was zamindar Anantram. Zamindar Bari Sadar gate is broken No way to understand if it was a Zamindar Bari Zamindar Bari Four big ponds and a canal were dug around the Zamindar Bari but the ponds are said to be running on government land Zamindar Bari Several arable lands on the north and south side These are still in the government records. Formerly there were many buildings but now there is not much now all destroyed and many big houses occupied by people now there are a few buildings which are covered with moss and leaves for fever it looks like insects leaves are a fever mark landlord's house. Devi Chaudhurani was born in Kahini Upazila of Rangpur, Bangladesh. Her birth name was Jai Durga Devi. Her father's name was Barashree Chowdhury and mother's name was Kasishwari Devi. She was married to Narayan Chandra Chowdhury, the zamindar of Manthana and Peergacha, and was the zamindar of this area during the Sannyasi revolt. During Devi Chaudhurani's reign, oppression by the English indigo growers increased as they forced farmers to cultivate indigo on fertile land, hence Devi Chaudhurani declared rebellion against the British. The legendary goddess Devi Chaudhurani led the revolt of the subjects of Rangpur in 1783 against the East India Company and their local vassals, Devi Singh, and the incessant colonization of India. Devi Chaudhurani is recorded in history for her contribution as a zamindar, she always stood by the subjects, with the subjects in the British Revolt, and as an active activist, literary emperor Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay authored two books titled Anandamath and Devi Chaudhurani. Do their hundred years old temple where the people of Hindu community still perform Puja Parban.
